Why place my baby for adoption?

If you're facing an unplanned pregnancy, there are many reasons to consider placing your baby for adoption. You may be unable to financially support a baby. You may not feel emotionally ready to care for a baby. You might not have support from your family. You might have an unstable relationship, or no relationship at all, with the baby's biological father. No adoption is the same and no reason for choosing adoption is better than another. How do I put my newborn up for adoption?

If you choose to work with us, we will be your guide and support system throughout the entire process. You will look through adoptive family profiles based on your personal criteria and choose a family for your baby. We will also help you create an adoption plan based on your wants and needs, such as whether it will be open, semi-open, or closed, who will be with you during delivery, and what you'll do after the adoption. Can I be involved in choosing my baby's adoptive family?

Absolutely! As a potential birthmother, we encourage you to browse our adoptive family profiles and choose a family you feel would be a good fit for you and your baby. We can help you choose a family and they will contact you in whatever way you're most comfortable with. If you want, you can spend time with them on your own to get to know them better. Many expectant mothers meet adoptive families for dinner, go to doctor's appointments together, talk on the phone, text back and forth, and/or send emails to one another. It's totally up to you how open or private you want your relationship to be. How to Choose an Adoptive Family »

What if I am in labor or have already had the baby? Can I still choose adoption?

Yes, it is never too late to put your infant up for adoption. We regularly receive calls and messages from women who are in labor, who have already had their baby and are in the hospital, or who have already taken their baby home. Families are prepared for the possibility of an after-delivery adoption and will be happy to travel anywhere in the country to meet you, so we can have an adoptive family available for your baby within hours.
