It was a magical night that shimmered with the glow of accomplishment and pride as Angel Adoption celebrated 25 years of growing families through the miracle of adoption. The stars of the evening? Sharon Ahmann and Carolyn Walker, the founders who took the first steps of Angel Adoption's journey 25 years ago.
To commemorate this momentous occasion, employees, family, and friends gathered at a local restaurant for an elegant evening of dinner, drinks, and dancing. The event kicked off with appetizers and drinks as guests mingled and posed for photos.
A Toast to a Legacy of Care & Dedication
As guests sat down to dinner, they were treated to a moving toast from Sharon and Carolyn.
With a touch of nostalgia, they recounted what led them to starting the company. After their struggles with infertility, they each adopted three beautiful children, and they wholeheartedly felt they could help adoptive families and birthmothers navigate the adoption process in a more compassionate and personal way.
Sharon and Carolyn continued by expressing their sincere gratitude for the care and dedication of each employee and all they do to keep the flame of the company's mission burning bright. They acknowledged Sue Chaffee, the first full-time employee they hired back in 2000, and who still serves the company today as Director of Alumni Relations. They also reflected on the company's many accomplishments over the years, notably the fact that the company assisted with more than 2,800 placements.
Sharon and Carolyn concluded with an emotional thank-you for their children, acknowledging that Angel Adoption exists because of how much they love their children and the beautiful way they came into their lives. As glasses clinked and plates were savored, laughter and conversation filled the air.
As dessert was served, Sue stepped up to deliver a heartfelt speech honoring Sharon and Carolyn. She shared some milestones and memories and congratulated them on 25 years of success, none of which would have been possible without their vision, determination, and steadfast commitment to serving adoptive parents and birth parents with compassion, care, and understanding.
Celebrate Good Times
After dinner, Sharon and Carolyn were presented with flowers and a gift from the company's management team. A balloon drop marked the start of the music and everyone kept the party going on the dance floor.
As the evening drew to a close, guests shared goodbyes and remarked about the fun time had by all. Those present were thankful to have been part of the celebration honoring Sharon and Carolyn and this remarkable milestone. Employees were filled with a sense of pride in being a part of a legacy that had thrived over the past 25 years, and an assurance that the best was yet to come for Angel Adoption.
