Richard & Valerie
About Us
Hi! We are Richard and Valerie! We met in college and just celebrated our ten-year wedding anniversary. Richard is funny, family oriented, and always tinkering with tools and computers. Valerie has a big heart, loves spending time with family and friends, and enjoys cooking, gardening, and sewing. At home, we enjoy spending time with our four dogs and two cats. Richard works at a cryogenic piping manufacturing company. Valerie works for a global engineering firm. Our education and careers are important to us, but we also like to have fun and enjoy camping and traveling with our closest friends and visiting family and friends on weekends. We were both born and raised in sunny Southern California and grew up with similar family values. We are excited to start our family and share our lives with a child or two.
Our Home & Pets
We bought our home in 2009 and love our neighborhood. We live in a safe, walkable cul-de-sac. We’ve done several home renovations to make our home cozy. We grow vegetables in the spring, and our small peach tree gives the biggest, sweetest peaches we’ve ever seen. We are in close proximity to several parks, hiking trails, and universities. We are animal lovers, and our fur family members are Buddy, Puppy Rott, Roxy, Petey, Chuck Norris, and Fluffy. We enjoy evening walks with our four dogs. Our front door is almost always open so our two cats can sunbathe and enjoy the neighborhood. Several of our pets came into our lives unexpectedly, and our hearts could not let them go.
Our Extended Family
Richard has two siblings and several nephews from his sister’s family. Valerie has a brother with two daughters and a son. You can always find Richard playing with all the nephews and nieces at family gatherings. Valerie’s closest cousin has two young children, and you can find Valerie helping them fall asleep for naptime and feeding them.
Family traditions include an annual Christmas Eve run and tamale making. Richard’s family started the Christmas Eve run when he was young. They drive around like Santa Claus and drop off gifts at family and friends’ houses on Christmas Eve. Valerie’s family has been making tamales from scratch since before she was born. It’s a valued right of passage per Grandma, and dozens of tamales are handmade for family and friends to enjoy on Christmas Day.
Our close friends have infants and toddlers. We enjoy Halloween, birthdays, and BBQs with them. We’ve known these friends for ten-plus years through school and work and can’t wait for them to meet our future child. We know they will all love and support your child.
What Led Us To Adoption
Our hearts are excited for adoption. We’ve experienced fertility issues and have been unable to start a family naturally. We are strong believers in God’s plan and feel he has led us to this journey. There is so much room in our hearts for a growing family. We have a large support group of family and friends with young children who will be part of your child’s life.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
