Thank you so much for considering us as potential adoptive parents. We know this is a difficult decision and have nothing but the utmost respect for you and the process you are going through. We hope to get to know you and be part of your support system. We assure you, your child will be loved like no other. We will make sure they will experience the wonderful things this world has to offer and they always have the support to reach for their dreams. They will know the love of a family that is diverse in background and caring towards all people.
After 9 years together, we are more than ready and very excited about the possibility of building our family. Of course, there is no shortage of family knees to bounce on and shoulders for burping, as our families are frequent visitors to our home. You can trust your baby will be a part of, and spoiled by, a large loving group; from cousins to play with to caring grandparents.
We know this is not an easy road to travel down. Together, we have discussed and planned for this, beginning with the home where we live, and our future arrangements for work. We can pledge to you that your child will never be second and will always be our #1 priority. We know this journey will have ups and downs, but we also know we will face them all as a family.
In 2008, we met in Washington, DC. We immediately discovered many shared interests, from trying new foods to traveling and even enjoying a movie or a board game at home. Our journey from dating, to marriage in 2011, to now preparing for a bigger family, has been filled with successes and career changes. Through it all, we have kept our view on the future, using our sense of humor and love for each other as guides. We know how to face success, adversity, happiness, and tragedy and we do it together – as a family.
Although Junior (Ediberto) has not had a long career it is quite distinguished. He has been promoted quickly and currently works as a senior financial analyst with a worldwide consulting firm and is studying for his CPA. Todd spent his early career serving the country abroad; an experience that resulted in a great appreciation for veterans and their families. This passion translated into much of what became part of his professional career and he had the privilege of being appointed by two Presidents to senior public service positions.
We both love our leisure time together and our two dogs go wherever we go. Our weekends are usually a combination of hanging out with family and friends, watching movies, playing games, walking our dogs, and appreciating nature. We both have busy lives, but we strongly believe that work is only a priority if it is to gain family time. Currently, both of us work one day a week at home, but we are more than willing to adjust our lives for our first child.
Our Home & Pets
We are privileged to have a beautiful and completely renovated home in a quiet suburban neighborhood, close to several parks and schools. The neighborhood is quaint, and our neighbors enjoy having monthly social gatherings. Our home is a split-level with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Because we enjoy games and movies, the downstairs has been made into a game room and theater. This is a very relaxing area we enjoy with family and friends, from playing board games to singing karaoke to cuddling up with the dogs, watching a great movie.
We have two rescued dogs: Taco is a 7-year-old Chihuahua and Charlie is a 12-year-old beagle. They are the subjects of daily photos and endless affection. Winter highlights in our home include TV and games in front of the fireplace to ski trips a short drive away. Summer, our favorite time of year, brings friends, family, and dogs to the backyard for BBQ and swimming in our pool.
Our Extended Family
Todd is originally from Texas, but we are fortunate to have Todd’s little brother, Dana, and his wife, Angel, living nearby. We enjoy getting together for dinner, chats, and exploring the area. Dana and Todd are former pilots, so there is always story telling and simulator flying to be done. Dana is also an amazing musician who has spent part of his life teaching children to play the guitar. The rest of Todd’s family still live in Texas. We see them at least once a year at Thanksgiving, but usually there are trips back and forth on other occasions.
Junior was born in Brazil and his family still lives there. Despite the distance, we feel like we see them very often (sometimes even more often than our family in Texas!). Throughout the year, his sisters, their husbands, and his parents come to visit. Additionally, we try to go down there every year to see his grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Overall, both of our families have always been very important to us. They have supported us in our lives and will be equally excited to welcome a new family member.
What Led Us To Adoption
From the beginning of our relationship, we always knew we would eventually want to raise children and grow our family. In 2013, we took our first major step. We first considered state adoption, however, at the time, laws in the Commonwealth of Virginia governing LGBT adoption were very restrictive. Although there were a few ways to facilitate it, we decided not to take the risk. We chose instead to begin a journey through surrogacy. After some disappointments and three unsuccessful attempts, we decided to take a break and reconsider our options. Because laws are much more open now, we thought it would be better to come back to our original aspiration of adoption. We believe adoption offers the greatest opportunity for us to build our family, while giving a child a lifetime of love.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
