dear expectant mother
We want to thank you for taking the time to read through our profile. Your bravery in facing a time of uncertainty with strength is remarkable. Our son’s birthmom is absolutely the most selfless person we have ever met, and the fact that she chose us to raise her son is a gift and a privilege that we are always thankful for.
We are raising our son with full knowledge of his birth family and story, as we deeply value the love that he came from. We are hoping for an open adoption, although we understand if you have something different in mind. Adoption is complex, emotional, and difficult, but it is also beautiful, wonderful, and worth the challenges. We highly value love and acceptance, and we want to raise our children to be accepting of all family systems, races, religions, and more. Kendrick was created to be both his birthmom’s and ours, and we value his differences from us and his biological connections.
Regardless of whether you choose adoption or not, we give you all of our respect as you consider options for your family. Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us.
We met in Bible college in downtown Chicago. After graduation, we got married and lived in southern California for one year near TJ’s family before settling down. We have now been married for almost seven years and live with our adopted son, Kendrick, and our dog, Annie. TJ works for a finance company and absolutely loves his job. He makes his own schedule, which is great because he likes being home early every day to hang out with our son. Pauline was a special education teacher for several years, where she loved bonding with kindergarten students. When we adopted our son, she decided to stay at home to raise him and loves her job as a stay-at-home mom!
Our Home & Pets
We always joke that we have two kids, our son and his “big sister” Annie, our dog! They are best friends and love playing together in our front yard and the ball pit in our basement. We live in a four-bedroom home, and we purposely wanted a big house so we can fill it with a large family. We live in a very diverse neighborhood, surrounded by other families with young children. We go to a local church that also celebrates a lot of racial diversity and has lots of young children. Lots of our best friends are starting to have kids as well, so Kendrick and our next child will have lots of friends to play with!
Our Extended Family
Pauline’s parents and four siblings all live near us, and we see them every week. There are currently four grandchildren, with another one on the way, which means lots of cousins to grow up with! We spend most holidays with them, and our favorite one is Christmas, when we spend the entire day at the grandparents’ house opening gifts, eating breakfast, playing games, and watching Christmas movies. Summer barbecues at the grandparents’ house are another favorite, when everyone comes over and spends the whole day eating good food and enjoying time together.
TJ’s parents live in southern California, and we visit them often to escape the cold weather! TJ’s dad is a big sports fan and loves seeing Kendrick kick a soccer ball, and TJ’s mom loves other cultures and traveling and hopes to teach Kendrick other languages. They visit us often, as they love visiting with sweet Kendrick. TJ’s little brother is working on his Ph.D. on the East Coast, and we are hoping he moves near us after graduation!
Our Adoption Story
We have always seen adoption as a big part of both of our stories, as we both have family and friends who have been adopted. Ever since we started dating, we knew adoption was how we wanted to grow our family. In 2017, we were blessed not only with our wonderful son, but also with his wonderful birthmother, who we have an amazing relationship with as well.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
