dear expectant mother
“There are two kinds of strength. The strength to make a parenting plan, and then there’s the strength to give that plan to another.” Anonymous
We respect you and your strength. We know considering an adoption plan will affect so many people, and we know there are people who will support you and those who won’t. We admire the strength it takes to do what you know is right when others don’t see it through your perspective. You are enough.
Should you choose us, we will support you and lift you up as the strong person you are. Your child will know your strength. Your child will be raised in a loving, empathic, understanding, laugh-until-you-ugly-cry household. Trials and tribulations will be met with teachable moments, hugs, support, and most likely dog kisses. We believe in hope, love, and laughter. We believe in you.
Thank you for considering making our family’s dream come true. We would be honored to be chosen for this incredible gift.
We met when we both worked retail in Texas. We dated for four years and have been married for 17 years. Shaw is a teacher at an alternative high school and has been in education for almost 20 years. She has always taught high school and loves working with teenagers; there is something to laugh about every day, and they keep her young! Manuel has been a public servant for 14 years. He was drawn to the profession to help people, and a good day at work is when he can help people find solutions. We both graduated from the same Texas college, and Manuel was the first person in his family to graduate from college. We wonderfully, unexpectedly welcomed our son in the winter of 2017. He is a smart, empathetic little boy who is so excited about becoming a big brother.
Our Home & Pets
We recently built a house, and we designed it with the intention of growing our family. Our house has four bedrooms, three and half bathrooms, a game room full of toys, and a fenced backyard. Our neighborhood is full of diverse families who LOVE to decorate for the holidays. We have our own neighborhood playground, and there are always kids riding their bikes and playing in the yards. We have huge hearts for animals; we have one dog, Blitzen, and two cats, Sweety and Cinder. Our pets have always been rescues, and at one point, we had five dogs and three cats.
Our Extended Family
Manuel’s family lives in our state. His fondest memories include his large family get-togethers with wonderful homemade carne guisada/tortillas, grilling, and lots of laughter with the adults visiting and the kids running around playing. We want to carry on that tradition. Although Manuel’s grandparents are no longer with us, they were his rocks while growing up. He is forever indebted to them for their love, structure, compassion, work ethic, and sense of humor.
Shaw’s family lives out of state, but family get-togethers are still a part of maintaining family traditions, like making her mom’s delicious chocolate peanut butter cookies and decorating sugar cookies for Christmas. Shaw’s brother’s family is able to make frequent trips to Texas to visit.
What Led Us To Adoption
Manuel is adopted, so we’ve always treasured the difficult decision birth parents make. We actually started, and nearly finished, the foster to adopt program in our state in 2014. Our state went through a large restructuring at the end of our training, and it wasn’t possible for us to move forward since we both worked full-time. The minute we found out Shaw was pregnant with our son, we knew we didn’t want him to be an only child. While adoption is not an easy avenue for anyone involved, we feel adoption has a positive impact on the child, adoptive parents, birth parents, and community as a whole. We are so excited to be on this journey and can’t wait to grow our family through adoption!

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
