dear expectant mother
“There are two kinds of strength. The strength to make a parenting plan, and then there’s the strength to give that plan to another.” Anonymous
We respect you and your strength. We know considering an adoption plan will affect so many people, and we know there are people who will support you and those who won’t. We admire the strength it takes to do what you know is right when others don’t see it through your perspective. You are enough.
Should you choose us, we will support you and lift you up as the strong person you are. Your child will know your strength. Your child will be raised in a loving, empathic, understanding, laugh-until-you-ugly-cry household. Trials and tribulations will be met with teachable moments, hugs, support, and most likely dog kisses. We believe in hope, love, and laughter. We believe in you.
Thank you for considering making our family’s dream come true. We would be honored to be chosen for this incredible gift
We met when we both worked retail. We dated for four years and have been married for 17 years. Shaw is a teacher and has been in education for 20 years. She has always taught high school and loves working with teenagers; there is something to laugh about every day! Her school is specifically for students who are in danger of not graduating. She loves helping students get caught up, strive for their goals, and accomplish things they never thought possible. Manuel has been a police officer for 14 years. He became a police officer because he didn’t have the best encounters with police when he was a teen/young adult. A great day at work is when he can help people and treat them with the respect all people deserve. We wonderfully, unexpectedly welcomed our son in 2017. He is a smart, empathetic little boy who is so excited about becoming a big brother!
Our Home & Pets
We recently built a house and designed it with the intention of growing our family. Our house has four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, a game room full of toys, and a fenced backyard. Our neighborhood is full of diverse families who LOVE to decorate for the holidays. We have our own neighborhood playground, and there are always kids riding their bikes and playing in the yards. We have huge hearts for animals; we have one dog, Blitzen, and two cats, Sweety and Cinder. Our pets have always been rescues.
Our Extended Family
Manuel’s family lives in our state. His fondest memories include his large family get-togethers with wonderful homemade carne guisada/tortillas, grilling, and lots of laughter with the adults visiting and the kids running around playing. We continue that tradition. Although Manuel’s grandparents are no longer with us, they were his rocks while growing up. He is forever indebted to them for their love, structure, compassion, work ethic, and sense of humor.
Shaw’s family lives out of state, but family get-togethers are still a part of maintaining family traditions, like making her mom’s delicious chocolate peanut butter cookies and decorating sugar cookies for Christmas. Shaw’s family is able to make frequent trips to Texas to visit us.
What Led Us To Adoption
Manuel is adopted, so we’ve always treasured the difficult decision birth parents make. We actually started, and nearly finished, the foster-to-adopt program in our state in 2014. Our state went through a large restructuring at the end of our training, and it wasn’t possible for us to move forward since we both worked full-time. The minute we found out Shaw was pregnant with our son, we knew we didn’t want him to be an only child. While adoption is not an easy avenue for anyone involved, we feel adoption has a positive impact on the child, adoptive parents, birth parents, and community as a whole. We are so excited to be on this journey and can’t wait to grow our family through adoption!

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
