Hello! Thank you for taking some time to learn more about us by reading our profile. We imagine that this is a difficult time, and we would like to express our utmost respect and support for you and your decision to create an adoption plan for your child. We would welcome the opportunity to learn more about you and your hopes for your child. As educators who have spent much of our time with kids, we both realize what an incredible joy, challenge, and privilege it is to raise children. We want you to know that children who join our home will experience unconditional love and will always be encouraged to think big and follow their heart.
Jackie is an artist and musician, and she loves to sing and play music with our son, Tabor. She also speaks Spanish and we want to raise our children to be bilingual. Seamus is a great story-teller and enjoys spending his time reading books and making up stories with Tabor.
We have seen what a positive experience adoption can be for everyone involved, and we look forward to potentially sharing this journey with you. We wish you all the best of health in your pregnancy and hope we can connect with you soon.
Welcome to our profile! We are Jackie and Seamus from Chicago. Jackie grew up in a small town in northern Wisconsin and Seamus grew up here in Chicago, but we ended up meeting each other while we were both living in Los Angeles. When we first met, Jackie was a third-grade teacher and Seamus was in school studying to become a high school history teacher. We quickly became best friends and just knew that we would spend the rest of our lives together--and here we are 10 years later and going strong!
We have since moved back to Chicago because we wanted to be closer to our families as we started our own. It's very important to us that our children have similar childhood experiences to what we had, with lots of love from grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Seamus is a stay-at-home dad for our son, Tabor, and we hope to expand our family soon through another adoption. Art, music, sports, and storytelling are just some of our passions and interests, and we look forward to sharing all this and lots of love with our children!
Our Home & Pets
When looking to buy our first home, it was important for us to find a house with a big backyard for kids and for our dog, Jazzy, to have a fun and safe space to play. Jazzy is a very energetic and fun Labrador-mix dog who loves people, and she plays very well with children. Although we live in Chicago, our neighborhood consists of mostly single-family homes and has a suburban feel to it. There are lots of kids in the neighborhood and a nice park that is only 2 blocks away. We enjoy working on home improvement projects around the house and have put a lot of time into making it our own.
Our Extended Family
We are lucky to have a “California Family” and a “Midwest Family,” and have the opportunity to see everyone quite often. With Jackie having lived in Los Angeles for 12 years and Seamus for 10 years, we both have strong ties to Southern California. Jackie's sister and several of our best friends still live there, and we love to visit!
Jackie's also very close with her mom and dad, and they drive from Wisconsin to visit us often. Jackie's mom is especially handy and helps us out with our home improvement projects and her dad is really into fishing and the outdoors, and spends a lot of time at his cabin in Michigan.
Seamus has great relationships with his large extended family here in Chicago. The family gets together often for holidays, birthdays, and barbecues. Our house has become the family’s favorite gathering spot!
Our Adoption Story
We began discussing adoption pretty much as soon as we met and knew that we would get married and have a family. Before we even knew each other, Jackie had considered adopting on her own. Then we found each other, and realized that we had both always thought that adoption would be a great way to grow a family. Although our parents never officially adopted additional children, we both had other children who came to live in our homes for extended periods of time while we were growing up, so we have always been very familiar and comfortable with the idea of “family” meaning much more than just a genetic connection. We adopted our son, Tabor, in November of 2015 and he has been the joy of our life! We are looking forward to expanding our family and know that Tabor will love his new brother or sister just as much as we will.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
