dear expectant mother
We are honored you would take the time to consider us for such a significant role in your child’s future. Understandably, this process cannot be easy, and we are grateful for your consideration during such an important decision-making process.
If you choose us, please know your child will be loved, treasured, and treated as a miracle because to us, they are. We are blessed to be in a place in our lives where we can provide for a child. Also, we believe parenthood is a lifelong endeavor that does not end at the age of eighteen, and there is nothing our child could ever do or say that would change that.
Our parents are excited to meet their grandchild. We both come from loving families that believe a parent should ensure that their children do well by fostering their natural interests, talents, strengths, and individuality instead of trying to force them into any of the various molds that others may try to assign.
Our priority will always be our future child’s happiness, and we will do everything we can to help him or her live a full, healthy, and fulfilling life. If you choose us, we’ll work hard at being an “open” family organism to best support them.
About Us
Nicole is a law professor, and Rob practices patent law. He works from home most days, so we get to sit down for lunch together a few times each week. We love to travel! It’s a bonus that Nicole is from Houston and Rob is from Puerto Rico because this allows a getaway from Michigan’s inevitable snow! We also escape to warmer weather during spring break and for summer vacation. And finally, there’s a wish list of international destinations we’ve been very slowly ticking off every few years. To relax, Nicole enjoys photography, knitting while binge-watching TV (usually a mystery or true crime show), and cooking. Rob relaxes by scrolling through current events in the evening and watching video clips (musical performances and comedy). He also regularly walks laps at the local mall and chats with the shop owners.
Our Home & Pets
Our town in Michigan is a college town near the state’s capital. We live in a three-bedroom home. Our house is surrounded by a forest, lakes, and walking trails. We frequently get up-close visits from deer, rabbits, turkeys, attractive birds, and black squirrels! It’s gorgeous during summertime, but fall is most beautiful with the mixture of orange, yellow, and red leaves flanking the trees. We like visiting northern Michigan throughout the year, attending sporting events, going to musicals, and enjoying the warm weather with as many outdoor events in mid-Michigan as possible.
Our guinea pigs, Carlos and Dusty, start singing every time we open the basement mini-fridge to prepare their snack salad. Carlos enjoys having us chase him around the shaggy area rug, but Dusty prefers to hideout in their habitat.
Our Extended Family
We never miss celebrating a wedding anniversary, which falls right after grading too many exams. We also wander off somewhere before school starts each year and our schedules get complicated.
For extended family, we make it to either Puerto Rico or Texas during the holidays. We were in Houston this New Year; therefore, we’ll be in Puerto Rico over the summer. Our parents in Puerto Rico and Texas always welcome us with open arms during our visits, and they can’t wait for us to bring our future child! While in Puerto Rico, we enjoy hiking and spending time at the beach. In Texas, we attend sporting events with Nicole’s dad and take advantage of the unbelievable restaurants. Nicole comes from a large family with more than a dozen first cousins who are eager to meet the newest addition. Rob’s family will also be looking forward to introducing the first grandchild to their Caribbean roots.
What Led Us To Adoption
While we were dating, Nicole was up front with Rob about her desire to adopt and was so happy to find out he was completely on board. After ending fertility treatments, we took time to heal and now look forward to expanding our family as we always envisioned. Nicole’s mom taught for years in a predominantly immigrant neighborhood and later in a socio-economically depressed neighborhood. Nicole spent days off over the summer tutoring her mother’s students. These experiences instilled a principle—you can love in all forms and to varying extents whether or not there’s a biological connection. Since early adulthood, Nicole wanted to bring a child into her home more intimately through adoption. Rob’s full-hearted endorsement and enthusiasm for the journey helped seal our relationship.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
