dear expectant mother
We cannot begin to express how brave and selfless you are in considering this life-changing decision. You would be giving us the most amazing gift, the gift we have not been able to give ourselves. We hope you see we have so much love to give and cannot wait to teach your baby everything! We can’t wait to see them interacting with Maisy, getting into and sharing Colin’s toys, learning to bake cupcakes with Jen, or making their first wood-working project with Mike.
We know this decision is not an easy one. We hope you have faith in the decision you make and the family you choose. We are open to any relationship you wish to have with us and hope you know your baby will always know they are surrounded with love from many people, including YOU! Your story is important as it is the beginning of your baby’s story. We will just pick up the baton, if you will, and continue on the path on which we have been guided by fate. We continue to be incredibly hopeful about welcoming a new baby into our home and are excited at the chance to introduce him or her to the world!
We are Jen and Mike! We met about eight years ago through our joint passion for theatre while working on a show called Picasso at the Lapine Agile. We remained friends, and a year later, we got cast playing the romantic leads in a production of Lend Me a Tenor. That experience pretty much proved to us we were meant for each other. When we became engaged, Mike’s son, Colin, would tell people he wanted a little brother or sister, even if they didn’t ask. Being teachers, we’ve found it has been refreshing to be with someone who “gets it.” Since our work schedules are fairly similar, we’ve been lucky to be able to travel to New York, Hawaii, and Ireland during the summer and holidays. During the week in the evenings, you’ll often find us watching whatever sporting event is on, like Monday Night Football, the Lakers game, or any baseball game.
Our Home & Pets
We live in a three-bedroom, two-story home with a large backyard and a basketball hoop on the patio. In our front room, we have a piano, two guitars (one acoustic and one electric), and a guitalele Mike picked up in Maui. We’re not professionals, but we like to tinker! We have an incredible, three-legged mini goldendoodle named Maisy-Rey. She is wonderful with our son Colin and all of our friends’ children who visit, and she loves to give goodnight kisses. There is a tree in the front yard that has the perfect branch for a swing, and the backyard is the perfect size for a playset. The neighborhood is quiet and lightly traveled, so there is ample room to ride bikes or skate outside.
Our Extended Family
We’re very fortunate to have both sets of parents living close by. This will be Jen’s parents’ first grandbaby; they are ecstatic! July 4th is a big celebration there—we swim, barbecue, and enjoy setting off fireworks in the driveway. Jen’s mom loves to host family dinners and is an amazing cook and baker! She works as an aide in a special needs class. Jen’s dad is retired but still works part-time at a golf course, which is his passion. He also loves to talk sports and will accompany us to ball games. Her brother is a big movie nut and is a huge fan of Star Wars and Marvel movies.
Mike’s parents are experts at the spoiling game. Grandma is excited to make the baby’s first quilt. Grandpa is a retired pilot and an amateur photographer, so he’ll be taking hundreds of pictures. Mike’s brother and family live in Washington, and they’re ready to share their love.
Mike loves making breakfast on weekends. He’s excited to share this tradition with a new generation. During spring and early summer evenings, we can be found shooting hoops in the backyard, riding bikes around the neighborhood, walking Maisy, or playing games.
What Led Us To Adoption
Since we became engaged, we knew we wanted a family. We would see babies and know we would be great parents together. Sadly, we endured two miscarriages. They took quite a toll on us, but when the time was right, we started to talk about adopting. Last year, a foster mom of one of Jen’s students shared she was finally allowed to adopt her and her siblings. Jen was overwhelmed with emotion for this family. Hearing this, we both knew the choice was clear. Another factor is that two of our very close friends were adopted and are amazingly talented and giving individuals. They’ve shared their positive adoption stories with us. We’re so excited to share our home and all our love.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
