If you’re reading this, we want to tell you thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering us in your adoption search. Mike and I greatly admire you for courage and strength and the love you have for your baby. We want you to know that your child will be entering a family and home full of love and laughter. As parents, we will cherish, provide for and always support your child and we want you to know we are completely open to whatever type of connection and communication you’re comfortable with. We sincerely hope you see something in us that gives you comfort and peace during this time.
Mike and I met as Peace Corps volunteers in Bolivia in 2004. We hit it off right away, but were not married until after we both returned to the states. We feel so fortunate to have the shared the experience of living in South America and being able to reflect on our time there.
I used to teach high school Spanish, but currently I am working as a substitute teacher. In my free time, I love watching Spanish telenovelas, reading, working out, ball-room dancing, hiking with our dogs, going on date nights with my husband, and listening to music with our son, Luke.
Mike works for and is part owner of a company that builds grain elevators. When he is not traveling for business, he can be found with his arborist friends, working on trees. Mike is an avid mountain biker and fly fisherman; he loves getting out on the trails and streams after work or on weekends with friends, family, or solo. He also loves reading, working out, and making up silly games with Luke.
As a family, we really strive to enjoy life and fill it with enriching experiences by traveling and helping others.
Our Home & Pets
We live in a small town in Washington State, very close to the ocean and with pretty views of the mountains. We can have grey, wet winters, but the gorgeous long days of summer make up for it! We like to travel to Hawaii or Mexico every winter to dry out a little and get some sun.
We live in a safe neighborhood with wonderful options for schools. We are conveniently close to shops and parks, but also have access to great trails for hiking and the beach for kayaking. We have a large, newer home with 3 bedrooms and 2 ½ baths. There is also a big playroom with tons of toys, a piano and a trampoline.
We have two sweet 10-year-old dogs named Tracy and Glen. They’re very mellow these days; they love their daily walks, playing fetch, and LONG naps.
Our Extended Family
We are very lucky to have supportive and generous parents and amazing siblings. Mike’s parents live in Denver and his sister, her partner, and their two boys live in Massachusetts. We make great efforts to get the cousins together as they’re very close.
Alex’s parents live in Portland and love to visit and help whenever they can. Alex’s brother lives in rural Alaska and has three kids. We get together with each side of our family over most holidays and always plan a summer trip that involves fishing, hiking and mountain biking!
What Led Us To Adoption
Mike and I were very blessed to have our son Luke, who is now 8. He is a sensitive, bright, sweet and goofy kid who has filled our lives with lots of love and laughter. We always knew we wanted to add to our family through adoption and now feel we’re in a really great place; secure financially and part of a wonderful, safe, open-minded community. Simply put, we long to open our hearts and home to another child. Mike and I love being parents and Luke would be the best big brother!

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
