Dear Birthmom

As we prepare to adopt a new little addition to our family, our hearts and love truly go out to you. We pray for you daily for strength, courage, and peace as you make the hardest decision you will ever have to make. We can’t imagine the struggles you are going through but we want you to know, we have the utmost love and respect for you. What an amazing gift you are giving a family. You are the absolute definition of an angel. Without a birthmother who lovingly and sacrificially placed her daughter for adoption, we wouldn’t be parents. We cherish that gift every single day and have a profound place of love in our hearts for her and her incredible gift. We are so excited to grow our family even more and to give our little angel a sibling.

Thank you, birthmother, for choosing adoption when so many choose a different path. Thank you for sacrificially giving that gift to the world and to a family who wants nothing more than to love your baby with their whole hearts. The gift you are planning to bestow on a family is incredibly selfless and the biggest act of generosity that a human can display. Thank you. We want you to know that both you and your baby will be showered with love, kindness, respect, and gratitude every single day. We pray that knowledge will comfort you.

About Us

Hi! We are Matt and Shannon. We have been married for 13 and a half years and live in the suburbs of Washington DC. Matt is a district sales manager and Shannon is a former high school teacher, then Air Traffic Controller, and now has the best job yet: being a stay at home mom to almost three year old Addison. We love our family and friends, spending time together (especially being outdoors!), and really feel abundantly blessed in life. Weekends are spent together and with the people we love often hiking, having cookouts, seeing museums, and going for long walks around our neighborhood. We really love spending time with those we love but we also cherish our down time as a family, too. Shannon loves to read, bake, cook, garden, exercise (running, weight lifting, hiking, and yoga especially) and playing games with her family. Matt loves golf, basketball, running, watching football on ESPN, and backyard barbeques!

Our Home & Pets

We live in a wonderful neighborhood in a Washington DC suburb and have been here for three and a half years. We have a big shady fenced in backyard that is perfect for gardening, cookouts, and throwing our Golden Retriever balls. Our neighborhood has many fun things throughout the year like a Fourth of July parade, an Easter egg hunt for Easter, and a Halloween bonfire. Our neighbors are great and we have several friends that we like to hang out with here. There are several playgrounds and a community pool. We have a lot of parks nearby and several shops and restaurants that we can walk to. We love living here!

Our Extended Family

Matt is one of six children and Shannon has one sibling, a twin sister. They both grew up in the DC area and still have many siblings, parents on both sides, and many nieces and nephews in the area. We are fortunate to spend a lot of time together. Family is the most important thing to us and we all get together frequently and travel together at least once a year. Addy has 23 cousins (most are in the area) and we do many family friendly activities together. We try to get the kids together as often as possible and they are developing strong bonds together too. We take them to the zoo, playgrounds, have play dates, cookouts, and hikes together.

Our Adoption Story

We had been married for about 5 years when we started talking about adoption. Biological babies weren’t coming as easily as we hoped and because of our faith we didn’t want to pursue IVF or fertility treatments. We have always believed that God had a special plan for us and we even talked about adopting when we were in our young 20’s and newly dating. We adopted our first child, Addison when we were married for 9 years and think of her as our special and amazing gift from heaven. We are so blessed to have her in our lives. We accept this path as what God wants for us and truly celebrate its uniqueness and the many blessings that come with adoption.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.

Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.

The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.

Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
