dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We don’t know each other yet, but we hope our paths will soon converge. We’re bringing nothing but our open minds and hearts with us on this journey. We’d love to meet you, to listen, and to celebrate your boundless courage. We would travel to the ends of the earth to meet you where you’re at because that is what we do for family. Your decision, your plan, and your hopes and dreams for your child’s future will become our hopes and dreams should you bless us with this gift. Your gift will forever be cherished and honored.

From the moment your child is part of our lives, they will find an enormous and unconditional love in our home. They will be doted upon by grandparents, aunts and uncles, and many excited cousins! We will raise your child to be bold, to speak their mind, to seek new challenges, and to be generous of spirit. We can assure you your child will always feel safe and be protected by us and, of course, Linus and Lenore.

Your child will be encouraged in their pursuits and will have many opportunities to learn and grow. We share the strong belief that they will know where they came from and that we celebrate their culture and heritage as a family. Most importantly, your child will be reminded that they are loved every day—just like our parents have done for us. And, just like us, I’m sure they’ll find it a tad annoying at times, but we will welcome the eye rolls!

In gratitude & joy,
Rob & Matt

About Us

Surely it wasn’t luck that brought us together on Thanksgiving Day in 2017. We both value time with family and friends above all else, so it made perfect sense. We were quickly in step, exploring our city and beyond. From concerts and street fairs to baseball games, the theater, museums, camping, and travel, we’re always up for an adventure with the people we love. Our greatest adventure began when we married the day before Thanksgiving, 2019. We grew up in vastly different regions but were raised to have very similar values. Matt had a Midwestern upbringing and Rob is a Northern California native. We were both educated in public schools and universities and consider it a priority to encourage free thought in a diverse environment. Matt is a realtor, and Rob has built a career in the home improvement industry. We think about homes and what they mean to people and families every day.

Our Home & Pets

Visitors to our historical Victorian home often say it’s the prettiest house on the street. We’d have to agree! Our home is also an urban wonderland where we unwind while collecting eggs from our 12 hens, cuddling baby bunnies, and tending our vegetable gardens. Our nieces and nephews love to visit, explore, and learn how to grow food and share it with friends and neighbors. Beyond our neighborhood is a vibrant city known for its culture, diversity, and activism. We can’t wait for family excursions to Children’s Fairyland, the zoo, paddle boats on the lake, and hiking the trails with our dogs, Linus and Lenore. Linus is a goofball giant schnauzer pup who’s protective when he’s not being silly and loves kids. Lenore is a hound dog whose nose is always on treat patrol and she is the best cuddler in our house.

Our Extended Family

Following our wedding celebration, we received several calls from guests who told us how uplifting it was to see so many people from so many walks of life come together effortlessly. At times when there seems to be so much discord in the world, our people are our greatest comfort. Our kin and chosen family are fiercely loyal and loving; they live from coast to coast, but any of them would be here for us in an instant.

There isn’t a birthday or holiday that goes uncelebrated in our family! Brothers, sisters, parents, dozens of cousins, and friends—whoever can come—get together for occasions big and small. Rob’s mom and dad live nearby, and Matt’s sister relocated from Iowa to California in 2019; we see her family often. Our traditions favor experiences, exploration, and adventure. You might find us landing a helicopter on a glacier in Alaska, taking in a concert in Las Vegas, at a cabin in Oregon, or grabbing a deep-dish pie in Chicago. We look forward to sharing these special people and places with a child. We can’t wait to watch their passions in life grow so we can create new traditions.

What Led Us To Adoption

The moment we agreed becoming dads was our shared dream, we knew adoption was our path. We both have adoption in our families and have seen how the love of many people can come together in shared hope for a child’s future. Rob’s cousin adopted her son, and he has watched their relationship flourish from infancy to his admission to college. Matt’s two closest cousins were adopted from Korea as babies and now have families of their own. Having these perspectives of both parents and adoptees so close is a comfort as we begin our journey. We are committed to working with a mother to help fulfill her hopes and desires for her child. She can be assured her child will find love, joy, and protection in our home.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.

Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.

The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.

Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
