dear expectant mother

We are so happy and humbled that you took the time to review our profile. Words can not express how much respect and admiration we feel toward you for making this difficult, selfless decision. To be honest writing this letter was a little challenging, what do you say to someone who could change your life in such a positive way? All we can say is that we will be here for you in whatever way you would like. We would be honored to be part of your journey.

If you entrust us to be your child's parents we promise to give them the best life possible. We will do that by giving them two parents who love each other, and will model a healthy loving relationship. They would be getting a large extended family who can not wait to spoil them, and a big brother who is excited to teaching them all kinds of things. We would make sure they always felt safe and loved, had access to wonderful educational opportunities, and got to experience different cultures through our love of traveling. We live in Alaska, which means our family has a love and respect for the outdoors that we hope to share with your child.

Your baby would be able to enjoy a variety of family traditions including going to the North Pole each year, baking cookies with Nana, Halloween pumpkin carving competitions.
Thank you again, we look forward to talking to you soon.

About Us

Our love story began with a chance meeting on St. Patrick’s Day in 2010, mutual friends invited each of us to a group event at a local pub. There was an instant spark, and after that night we were inseparable. Now we are about to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary and still consider each other our best friend. Matt is an outgoing, social butterfly who enjoys playing drums, softball, music, and movies. He works for the Department of Homeland Security, but thinks he is a comedian in his downtime. Katie is competitive and charismatic. She enjoys bike rides, sports, hiking, and trying new things. She has her Masters degree in Nursing and works in the ICU. Our son Landon’s eight and in 2nd grade. He goes to a fantastic school where he learns to speak Russian and is almost fluent. He loves to ride bikes, Taekwondo, and playing basketball, baseball, and board games.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a 3 bedroom, two-story townhouse surrounded by all the beauty and magic Alaska has to offer. We have an extremely loving and friendly cat (KitKat) who doesn’t know a stranger. We are within walking distance to a great elementary school, and minutes away from snowcap mountain ranges, beautiful parks with bike paths, and hiking trails. Our neighborhood is full of young professionals and very family oriented, there are many well-maintained playgrounds that are always full of children laughing and playing. There are also rivers right here in town where we fish for fresh Salmon. We frequently get visits right outside our windows from moose, lynx, magpies and other incredible wildlife, it truly is the greatest place on earth to call our home.

Our Extended Family

Our families are thrilled about us adopting. We both have large, loving families that can’t wait to meet a new member. There are many aunts, uncles, cousins, 2nd cousins, grandparents etc. but specific to Matt’s family, he has two younger sisters. The middle sister is married (both nurses) and just found out she is expecting her first child, a little boy, in March. His other sister just got out of cosmetology school.

Katie has a younger sister and brother. Her sister is married (both teachers) and had their first baby this past August. We were beyond excited to welcome our first nephew! Her brother served in the military and is married to a wonderful veterinarian. Rumor is they are looking to start a family soon!

This new little one will have lots of little cousins running around!

Our absolute favorite family tradition takes place during the first weekend in December. We travel to North Pole, Alaska to see the real Santa Claus, his workshop, and reindeer (they have the whole set up). We get a log cabin in the woods. We spend our days playing in the snow and evenings in front of a fire, drinking hot chocolate, and watching the northern lights.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have always dreamed of having a big family, so we were overjoyed when we became pregnant with our son. However, there were many complications during Katie’s pregnancy, the worst being the need for an emergency hysterectomy directly following Landon’s birth. We were in love with our new baby, but felt like our dream of a big family was over. A few years later adoption touched our lives through a close family friend. We were honored to be a part of such a beautiful process and it was at that moment we knew adoption was the right path for our family.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.

Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.

The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.

Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
