dear expectant mother
We understand you are facing a hard decision, and we admire the love and support you’ve shown for your child by considering adoption. As a French teacher, Julie cannot wait to raise a bilingual child. Matt is looking forward to camping, playing soccer, and keeping your child active throughout their life. Our dog, Atreyu, can’t wait to lick a little salty face. We hope to provide the space and opportunities for your child to be open, adventurous, humble, creative, and above all, him or herself.
We want you to know that you are considering an incredible thing and potentially helping to complete our family. This is such an amazing gift you are giving, and we are eternally grateful to you for this selfless, generous choice. We feel lucky you’ve taken the time to consider us as a potential family to love and raise your child. Throughout our journey to become parents, we have learned a lot about listening to and being there for one another. We plan on being there for you as well, however you may need. We are here to support you as you make your decision, and we want you to feel comfortable reaching out to us anytime.
We have been together for almost ten years, and will soon celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary. Matt works for the Department of Homeland Security as an analyst and serves in the Air National Guard. Julie is a professor of French language and literature at a large university. We have traveled all over North America for our jobs: we’ve lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Maryland, Hawaii, and British Columbia, Canada! We are now settled in the Midwest and we love it.
We are an active couple. Together, we enjoy hiking, cycling, daily walks with our dog, traveling, cooking, and trying different foods (we love to eat!). Julie goes to yoga and spin classes, and loves reading, swimming, and spending time with friends. Matt is an avid soccer player and fan, has run several marathons and trail races, loves watching football and soccer, and listening to podcasts. We are fortunate to be able to spend quite a bit of time together on evenings and weekends, and try to do something new as much as we can. We are a silly, fun couple who are best friends and we love living life together!
Our Home & Pets
We recently bought our two-bedroom, two-bathroom bungalow with a finished basement, great backyard, and an amazing kitchen for people who love to cook! It is located in a well-established neighborhood in our city, with houses over one hundred years old, all of different styles and sizes, and with beautiful old trees providing ample shade. We are steps from a well-manicured bike and walking path, which connects to the hundreds of miles of trails in our area. We are also within walking distance of a fun gourmet grocery store, parks, great schools, and a delightful Caribbean restaurant.
We have a fox-terrier mix, Atreyu (his name comes from the movie The NeverEnding Story), who we rescued while living in Hawaii. He is 26 pounds with a giant personality, and always keeps us laughing.
Our Extended Family
Matt grew up as an only child, but gained a stepmother and two quirky stepbrothers about eight years ago. His father is retired but volunteers for FEMA. His mother takes care of his spunky 92-year-old Grandma Rose, and makes beautiful wreaths, which she sells on Etsy. We often spend Christmas at the lake with Matt’s family; kayaking or boating or just relaxing in the house.
Julie has one sister, Gayle, who is a biochemist with a witty architect husband and a...let’s say “well-fed” cat. We live a lot closer to Julie’s parents now, and we enjoy visiting them about three times a year. Thanksgiving is a very important holiday for Julie’s family, as it involves a lot of cooking and eating. Every year we try to spend Thanksgiving with Julie’s family and go bowling with Gayle and her husband.
What Led Us To Adoption
We always knew we wanted children, but discovered fairly soon after getting married that we were unable to do so the “conventional” way. We both have family members who were adopted, however, and decided that adoption was the right and most exciting decision for us. We love kids and can’t wait to open our home and our lives to a precious baby!

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
