About Us

When we met 14 years ago, Jumelie had just come home from military training in the U.S Army and Kelvin was a family friend. We started out as friends, but it developed into much more, and in 2005, we married in front of our closest friends and family. After our first year of marriage, we both received enticing job offers and relocated from Virginia to Texas. We took this big step together and have remained in Texas ever since, having fallen in love with the area and forged amazing friendships.

Professionally, we are both Registered Nurses. The pursuit of improved health and happiness is important to us both in our daily lives. It’s fun having this shared passion. In our spare time, we are avid movie watchers! We also enjoy spending time with our friends and family and traveling. Jumelie’s maternal grandmother lives in the Philippines, and making time to go visit is always something our family looks forward to. We are truly partners in life and in love and feel our differences complement each other.

Our Home & Pets

Our home is truly the place where we feel the most relaxed and comfortable. We just moved into our dream home a few months ago and have really enjoyed settling in. It’s located in an area that is full of walking trails and fountains, which we take full advantage of! We love exploring the city in our free time and appreciating its beauty. Most importantly, we love spending time with our five-year-old miniature schnauzer, Riviera Maya (or Maya for short). She is full of energy and love and it’s important to both of us that we make time to play with her daily.

Our Extended Family

Our families are very supportive of our decision to pursue adoption. Adoption has touched both sides of our family in various ways. Jumelie is very close with her cousin, who was adopted from the Philippines . Additionally, her paternal grandmother adopted her father and his three siblings when they were very young. Jumelie’s family is very diverse and we all enjoy celebrating what makes her family special and unique.

Kelvin has one sister and three brothers who have blessed us with an abundance of nieces and nephews on his side of the family! Kelvin’s brother also expanded his family through adoption over 20 years ago. He adopted our niece, who is now a happy, successful, and thriving 23-year-old. As her aunt and uncle, we feel it has truly been our privilege to watch her grow.

What Led Us To Adoption

Adoption has always been a hope of ours and part of our family planning decision since we were first married. We had hoped to have our own biological child as well; however, after seven years of working through infertility challenges, we agreed we had reached a point where we needed to redirect our focus and channel our energy towards growing our family through adoption. We were fortunate to have several family members who had already been touched by adoption and we appreciate being able to discuss our plans with them. Our families are very supportive of this journey and our decision to adopt and are super excited we have chosen this path. We are all looking forward to growing the wonderfully diverse family we have.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.

Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.

The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.

Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
