dear expectant mother

While we may not yet know each other, we want to offer a friendly “Hello!” and to reassure you that we’re with you on this journey. It’s hard to write a letter to someone we’ve never met, not to mention about something so emotional. Without any doubt, it must be even harder to read this letter while making a choice with unbelievable complexity. In what we can only imagine is the hardest decision you’ll ever make, we want to acknowledge your selflessness and courage. We also want to thank you for considering us to be parents for your child.

We have thought long and hard about adoption. Before we met, we both knew we wanted to have children. Having been together for a decade, we know this is the right time and that adoption is the right path for us to become dads.

We want you to know we’ll be open with our child about their adoption, about you, and about how they are so loved by you as well as your desire for them to have their best life that you chose us to become a family. We look forward to learning more about how you envision our relationship and how best to share this child’s life with you, whether via pictures, letters, or visits.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit more about us. We look forward to possibly being a part of this journey together.

About Us

We’ve been together for over ten years and married for the past four. We both love being on the go and can’t wait to welcome a child who will only add to the excitement and adventure. We often spend time with friends and family, go out to eat, or go to the movies or live theater. In the summer, we love to travel to new destinations, ride bikes, take hikes, go camping, and grill on our patio. Brett has a passion for photography; he also enjoys sailing at the local sailing club and recently started golf lessons. Jeremy has an affinity for music, and after playing four instruments growing up, he’s recently started to learn the guitar. He also enjoys reading, running, and volunteering for a few area organizations focused on human rights and city betterment.

Our Home & Pets

Our home is in a very young family-friendly neighborhood with lots of diversity. We enjoy neighborhood activities that take place in a park located a few houses down the street, such as outdoor movie nights. As many of our neighbors have young children, we also look forward to joining them for weekend kids’ soccer games and helping to build the occasional snowman during the winter. We particularly love spending time on our outdoor patio and in our finished basement, where one of our favorite things is curling up on the couch together with some popcorn. Living with us are two snuggly cats: Noah and Tucker. We both have a great love for animals, having grown up with family pets, and love their companionship.

Our Extended Family

Both sides of our family are extremely excited to welcome the newest member of our family.

Brett’s parents are both recently retired and live about an hour away. They have a big yard that’s great for running and playing and also have a pool we take advantage of in the summer months. Brett also has two brothers. His older brother and his wife live in South Carolina with their four children. He is an avid golfer and spends time with the family doing various activities like riding bikes. Brett’s younger brother lives in Pennsylvania. He is a licensed skydiver and enthusiastic about cars. Brett’s family has a tradition on Christmas Eve where everyone gets new Christmas pajamas at the foot of their bed; everyone’s new jammies are always different, and it’s one of our favorite traditions to look forward to each year.

Jeremy’s parents are also both retired and live about an hour away, not far from Brett’s parents. Jeremy had an older brother who passed away in 2016 from a brief but fatal bout with cancer but is survived by Jeremy’s sister-in-law and niece, who live in Maryland. We go on family vacations with Jeremy’s side of the family annually.

What Led Us To Adoption

Since we started dating, we have discussed the possibility of one day having children. It’s always been very important to both of us to start a family together. After a few years of being married, we explored the various options available to us and decided becoming dads through adoption was the right avenue to start our family. We’re both extremely excited to be able to offer a loving home to a child through adoption. When we think about the adoption of our future child, we can’t help but smile as we think about passing on our family traditions, creating new traditions, playing with cousins and friends, and building a life together as a family.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.

Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.

The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.

Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
