Hi! We are Heather and Ian. Heather’s a senior recruiter for a large financial institution, and Ian is a warehouse manager for a large food distributor. We both really love our jobs. We met through a mutual friend in 2011, quickly fell in love and were married in 2014. Whether it’s our Sunday night cribbage league, playing a boardgame, traveling, boating, or just hanging out at home with our puppies, making memories together is where we want to be. Ian is kind, patient, and compassionate. He’s always making Heather laugh, keeping her on her toes and supporting her in everything she does. Heather is strong, self- motivated, and hilarious. She is Ian’s biggest cheerleader; supporting him in all of his adventures, hobbies and passions. We are truly best friends and stand by each other at all times. We make each other laugh and keep each other strong.
Our Home & Pets
We live in the great state of Minnesota. We live in a newly built two-story (plus basement) home. It has four large bedrooms, a large deck, and a fenced-in backyard. We bought this home with our future family in mind. We have two dogs that can’t wait to show your child their home. We live in a great neighborhood, surrounded by neighbors who have quickly become some of our best friends. Our neighborhood is diverse and full of kids ranging in age from newborn to teens. During the summer, our neighborhood loves to have block parties and gatherings for families to get together. Our community has great schools, parks, lakes and trails.
Our Extended Family
In the Summer, we spend as much time as possible at the family cabin. At any given time, you can find many of Heather’s extended family members there. We love pontoon rides and fishing adventures. Ian can’t wait to teach your child to fish! At night, we have bonfires, sing campfire songs and create lifelong memories. We spend the Forth of July here each year participating in the lake-wide boat parade, water fight and rib-making contests.
The holidays are our absolute favorite! It’s a time when we get to see our entire families together. Heather’s side has a tradition of singing “The Twelve Days of Christmas”, each person has their own part; with her 98-year-old grandma stealing the show singing “five golden rings”. On Ian’s side, we sign Norwegian songs and graze on food until we cannot eat anymore.
Each year we take a trip to Texas to visit Heather’s father’s side of the family. A trip to Texas isn’t complete without a trip to Buc-ee’s and picking up the latest Buc-ee’s t-shirt for the family back in Minnesota.
We cannot wait to share all these experiences and traditions with your child while making our own memories along the way.
What Led Us To Adoption
Adoption has always been part of our plan as we discussed expanding our family. We have several family members who have been touched by adoption, whether they were adopted or a birth parent. Because of the selflessness of those birth families, our family is what it is today. After we got married we immediately started trying to expand our family; after years of trying we sought fertility treatment. We went through a round of IVF, after that was unsuccessful, we decided adoption was what God was calling us to all along.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
