dear expectant mother

We cannot begin to comprehend how difficult this process may be for you, but we are incredibly grateful you are considering us. This is the first time we are adopting, and we are not experts in the process but want to always be there for you and your baby to make it as simple and painless as possible. We will always work our hardest to create a home where your baby can feel love and safety, so they can grow to be the best person they can be. We will inspire your baby to achieve all their dreams through our support, encouragement, and love.

Even though we will love your baby like our own, we will be thrilled to share every moment with you if you want to be part of the baby's life too, at any level you’re comfortable with. We will be honest with your baby about where they came from and make sure they know everyone who loves them. We are very excited to welcome a baby to our family to bring joy and love for us, the baby, and our extended family.

Thank you so much for considering us!

About Us

We are Carlos and Elisa. We met briefly in 2009 at a mutual friend's birthday party. A few days later, we connected online through Messenger, and in 2011 we got married. Carlos is a software engineer who likes anything nerdy, including video games, anime, and Star Wars movies as well as cooking and trying new recipes. Elisa is a Registered Nurse. She likes DIY crafts, dance, animals, and drama TV series. As a couple, we hike trails with our dogs, Anakin and Obi-Wan. We like wine tastings, movie theaters, restaurants, and taking the ferry to small islands near our home. We have a tradition of watching holiday movies on Christmas Eve and waiting until midnight to open the Christmas presents. During this time, we stay up all night to wait for our families to wake up in Puerto Rico and watch them open their gifts.

Our Home & Pets

Our home is a two-story house with a fenced-in backyard. From the backyard, you can see trees and blackberry bushes as well as birds and squirrels. We live in a quiet neighborhood with young families and small children. There are schools, parks, and lakes near the house. We have two dogs that are part of our family: a golden retriever named Anakin and a chihuahua named Obi-Wan. They are inseparable. They like to play with each other, play with toys, and get wet from their inflatable pool or hose. We like to take them to trails in the mountains and around the neighborhood.

Our Extended Family

Our families are from Puerto Rico, and they are charming, joyful, and lovely. We have a lot of uncles, aunts, and cousins. Elisa has eleven uncles and aunts. Two of her aunts and many cousins live in the U.S. Elisa has only one sister, who is married and has one son, who is 14 years old. He has a special bond with us and gets excited every time we visit the island. Carlos has six uncles and aunts, and four are his mom’s adopted sisters. Carlos has one brother and one sister. His sister is married and has a son and daughter, 12 and 11 years old.

Both families love to get together for dinner; to celebrate birthdays, Christmas, and Three Kings Day (January 6); and to visit different places on the island. We all love music, especially the native island music known as “plena,” which is similar to African and tropical music. When we cannot visit our family, we communicate through video calls.

What Led Us To Adoption

Ever since we got together, we have talked about forming a family by conceiving or adopting a baby. Before we got married, Elisa was diagnosed with cervical cancer, and she became infertile because of the treatments. Once Elisa was cancer free, we decided to form our family through adoption. In Elisa’s family, a cousin went through the adoption process, and the whole family welcomed the child. On Carlos’s side, his mother was adopted. Between the experiences of both of our families, we are confident that any child we adopt would be loved, welcomed, and supported by everyone.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.

Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.

The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.

Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
