dear expectant mother
We are Bill and Deb, and we thank you for considering the difficult but beautiful choice of adoption for your child. Our family has been blessed by adoption twice, and we know what an amazing gift it is. We have known as long as we’ve been married that we would grow our family by adoption, and we are hoping to be able to grow our family further with brothers and sisters for Dominic and Cecilia.
We are very excited that you are reading this letter. Wherever you are in your decision, we want you to know that we support you in deciding what’s best for your child. As parents, we know that’s never easy, but we want you to know that if you choose us, our hearts and our home are ready for your child. Our home is joyful and kid-focused. We build pillow forts and block castles instead of watching TV, we climb trees and throw balls instead of playing video games, we eat dinner as a family every night, and we pray together for a bigger family at bedtime.
We have been blessed beyond words by the gift of adoption, and we are looking forward to bringing more children into our family. Dominic and Cecilia would love to be a big brother and sister, and we want a big family that knows how to love and care for one another. We are happy to work with you to develop the kind of connection you wish to maintain after placing your child with us. Thank you for taking the time to read this and to consider us as partners in your adoption plan. We wish you good health and great courage, and we pray that you will find comfort and peace as you plan for the care of your child.
We live in southeastern Virginia, where Bill is a scientist and college professor and Deb works at home raising our two children, Dominic and Cecilia. We enjoy traveling and often take family trips to visit our parents and the kids’ aunts, uncles, and cousins in Pennsylvania and Ohio, to Washington D.C., and to beaches and national parks. Bill is an avid cyclist and occasional triathlete, and Deb enjoys theater and books and eating whatever Iron-chef experiment Bill has cooked up in the kitchen. We both love animated and superhero/sci-fi movies and anything Shakespeare (especially Hamlet!).
Our Home & Pets
We live with our two cats in a three-bedroom brick duplex built nearly a hundred years ago. There is a grassy, fenced-in yard with a cherry tree in the middle of it, and a bigger, open front yard. Dominic and Cecilia have a cheerful play room surrounded by windows, and our home is a short walk from several playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, and beaches on the Chesapeake bay. The neighborhood is full of young kids, and the families are from all over the country. The area is small city/suburban, with lots of water and trees!
Our Extended Family
Bill grew up near Philadelphia, where his parents still live, and has two younger sisters. The older one lives about four hours away in Virginia and is married with two children (a girl and a boy) in their teens. Bill’s youngest sister lives in Iowa. We get together several times a year, including holidays.
Deb was raised in the Cleveland area, where her parents live, and is the oldest of four. Deb’s brother lives in Oregon, the older of her two sisters lives in Ohio and has four boys, and her youngest sister lives in Cleveland. We travel to Cleveland several times per year for big family get-togethers, and Deb’s five uncles and many cousins and their children always join us!
What Led Us To Adoption
Even before we were married, we knew growing our family through adoption was something we felt called to. We trained to become foster parents in California, but just as we completed the training, we moved to Virginia and faced a whole separate course of training. Then, one of our friends, who knew we were looking to adopt, put us in touch with a birthmother! In what felt like a whirlwind two months, and about three weeks ahead of his due date, we were holding Dominic in our arms and our dreams had come true! Three years later, it happened again, and our network connected us with Cecilia’s birthmother. Dominic and Cecilia are amazing gifts to us. Dominic is an active, fun-loving boy who loves basketball and being outdoors, and Cecilia is a joyful little girl who loves books and doing anything her brother is doing. We have good relationships with both of their birth families, who each have their own level of contact with us. We are hoping that our family will continue to grow by adoption.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
