dear expectant mother
We can only imagine the weight of your decision to choose adoption for your baby and the difficulty in selecting the perfect family for him or her. We are beyond honored that you are taking the time to read our letter to you, and we could not be more grateful. Raising a child who grows up to be secure and confident and knowing that they can choose what they want out of life is our priority as parents.
This will be our second child, and we know that his or her entry into our lives will continue to refocus our priorities as a family. Although there is no single right or perfect way to raise a child, we will do everything we can to ensure that he or she is provided with as many opportunities for success and learning as possible. Chris will continue to stay home with our children in their early years so that they may take advantage of his educational background during this formative time. As a military family, they will also have the opportunity to explore several parts of the U.S. and possibly the world.
Thank you for considering us as a potential family for your child. Know that if you decide we are the right family, we would spend the rest of our lives honoring your decision by loving and providing for the health and well-being of your child.
We began our life together in 2012, marrying among family and friends in San Francisco in 2013. We share a love of traveling, theater, Disney, and being with loved ones at holidays and special occasions. Seeing his mother’s dedication instructing children, Chris decided to pursue an education career. Spending quality time with family and friends is one of Chris’ greatest joys. He also enjoys spending time in the kitchen, listening to music, singing, and laughing whenever possible. Luis is a family physician in the U.S. Air Force. He has practiced and taught medicine around the world. He enjoys oil painting and also loves to snowboard, hike, read, cook, and play board games. In 2015 we were blessed with the introduction of Cecilia Ava into our lives. Now three, she loves to jump, dance, and read stories and is just as adventurous about trying and eating new foods as we are.
Our Home & Pets
We live in the National Capital Region, where Luis is stationed. We have a three-bedroom townhome overlooking the river. We are able to walk to a great downtown area with lots of restaurants, shops, a play area, and an iconic Ferris wheel. Some of our favorite activities here are exploring restaurants and all the museums and cultural events.
We have a seven-year-old golden-doodle dog, Mitsu (“Honey” in Japanese), who loves to run, play with puppies, and cuddle up on the couch.
Our Extended Family
Both of Luis’s parents are only children, making his extended family a little bit smaller. Both his brother and sister are married and have three and four children, respectively. Chris’s family is larger, with two aunts and several cousins in addition to his parents. One of Chris’s brothers is married with four children, and his other brother enjoys being an uncle. We enjoy getting together with our parents and extended families for holidays, especially Christmas and Thanksgiving, with lots of cooking and baking. Big family vacations to Disney are also a favorite!
We each have a grandmother who is very supportive and loves hearing about what is going on in our lives. Any children who enter our lives will have lots of relatives to get to know and enjoy during vacations and holidays, with several cousins near their age.
Our Adoption Story
Both of us come from very loving families, so it was natural that both of us wanted to start our own family. After marrying, we spent time developing a strong foundation for the rest of our lives together, which would be vital to our success as parents. We have created a loving environment together and share that with Cecilia. Cecilia has created such a joyful dimension to our family. In adopting transracially, we are charged to ensure that she grows up knowing her roots and culture. We work every day to prioritize her needs so she develops into a strong, independent, well-adjusted woman. We know that we will be able to support and nurture any children we are blessed with so that they flourish in their lives.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
