dear expectant mother

Thank you so much for giving us an opportunity to introduce ourselves and share in your story. You are so very brave, and we can’t imagine the strength it takes to support life in the way you are. We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to read our profile.

We’ve always wanted a child of our own. For reasons out of our control, we haven’t been blessed with one just yet. We often share our happy memories from childhood and how much love we felt from our parents. We have a strong desire share that love again. When we reminiscence on our childhood experiences, we think about how we want to provide a child with some of those same traditions and memories they can look back on fondly one day, like Sunday pot roast dinners after church, Saturday family movie night, and going camping on summer vacations. We want to share those kinds of moments with a special child. Bringing up a child to love and care for makes us smile every time we think about it.

We can promise you that we will hold this gift of life like a treasure and ensure your child will be in the hands of two people who will show as much love to your child as we do to each other.

About Us

Carissa is a marketing director for a software company, and Luke is a former camp counselor who is now a sportswriter. We met over 12 years ago and have been married for over seven years. While our lives are fulfilling and full of love and laughter, we’re more than ready to welcome a child into our family. We want to be able to provide our future child with the same opportunities and experiences we were able to enjoy while growing up. We envision exposing our new son or daughter to sports, art, music, and other activities, and then letting them do what they love most. We also like to travel and try new things, and finding places to explore with our blessing will be high on our list!

Our Home & Pets

We live in a four-bedroom, two-story home in Iowa. Our home is in a close-knit and kid-friendly neighborhood that backs up to a children’s park and a bike trail. We have multiple spare bedrooms, a finished basement with a ping-pong table, plenty of play areas, and a large, fenced yard with a fire pit. Our family includes a black lab named Rufus and two cats, Sunny and Ziggy. Rufus and Sunny are best friends who snuggle on the couch together when we watch television.

Our Extended Family

Carissa’s parents have been happily married for over 45 years. Her mother is a retired elementary teacher and her father is a retired government employee. They volunteer their time serving on the boards of a local museum and a community hospital. Her parents live a few hours away and love visiting us whenever possible. We’re very close with her two younger sisters, brother-in-law, and five-year-old nephew. Carissa’s middle sister, brother-in-law, and nephew live only 20 minutes away, so we love spending time babysitting. We do lots of activities together, like baking cupcakes, watching movies, and coloring.

Luke’s father is a retired teacher who enjoys volunteering his time by tutoring elementary students and working at state parks in the summer. He is a devoted and doting grandfather who can’t wait for another grandchild to spoil! Luke’s family makes a trip every year from Florida to Iowa to spend time with us. We’re very close with his older brother and his nephew, and the whole family loves spending time at the beach and cracking jokes.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have been dreaming of adding a child to our family for years! We’ve looked into adoption and have discovered that it is a wonderful way to bring joy to our lives while giving a child a safe, promising, and hope-filled future. We’re also experienced enough to know the challenges of raising a child, and we’re more than prepared to put in the time, energy, and love it will take to do so.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.

Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.

The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.

Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
