dear expectant mother
On New Year’s Eve in 2014, Barry was in California celebrating the new year with his family when he called Carly, who was back home in Arizona. He told her that in spending time with his family, all he could think about was that he was ready to start a family with the woman he’s loved for the past several years. That conversation brought out such joy in both of us, and we started trying soon after to start our family.
Thankfully, once we started doing research on adoption and reading stories about the selflessness and sacrifice of birth mothers who bless other families with their children, our hope of growing our family was restored. We were heartened and became inspired by these stories, and devoted ourselves to making our lives and home ready for a baby. The love and affection you will always have for your child will live on in our household every day.
Your sacrifice and act of love will drive us to spend that extra time nurturing and caring for them, instilling the same love for education and curiosity for the world that we have. Thank you for inspiring us and we hope you see in us a loving, caring, and dedicated couple who will give everything to raise a happy and healthy child.
We met in college in October 2008 while having lunch with mutual friends, and developed a friendship over the course of several months (during which time our friends would constantly try to get us to admit our obvious feelings for each other). Once we realized that we did really care for each other as more than friends, we officially started dating in April 2009, and have been inseparable ever since. Higher education is a shared passion, and we are fortunate to both have great jobs in the field; Carly is a collegiate academic advisor and Barry is a college professor. We are both movie lovers, and try to see most Oscar-nominated films each year. Traveling to visit family and friends and attend sporting events are some of our favorite activities. We both enjoy exercise and the outdoors; Carly has run five half-marathons, Barry has run four, and we plan to do more together in the future.
Our Home & Pets
We are blessed to have a lovable dog named Buddy, a six-year-old Black Lab/Patterdale Terrier mix that we rescued from our local animal shelter in 2012. We love to take him on walks around our neighborhood, and on hikes in surrounding desert hills and mountain trails. Our 3-bedroom, 2-bath home is located in a well-developed, quiet, and extremely safe suburb. Our house is situated in a beautiful neighborhood with a park and community pool. We are lucky to have everything we could want within a five-minute drive, including top-notch schools, a large park with a fishing lake, and a big shopping mall.
Our Extended Family
We are extremely fortunate to have parents and siblings who have supported us immensely throughout this process, and will play important roles in our baby’s life. Carly’s parents are both educators by trade, her father a long-time football coach and her mother a high school English teacher. Carly’s younger sister, Stephanie, is busy finishing her PhD in Biology. We often travel up to the Pacific Northwest to visit Carly’s family during the summer, and love to hike and explore cities as a family. Barry’s parents are both retired school teachers, and leave their beautiful home on the central coast of California to come visit us in Arizona. Barry has one younger sister, also named Stephanie, who is happily married and works as a data analyst for a technology company in California.
What Led Us To Adoption
Our journey started off with several bumps in the road due to a few painful years of infertility struggles, but through this hardship we found the answer to our prayers in adoption. We have seen a close family friend build her family through adoption, and we are more than ready to have that same positive experience in building ours. Once we decided that adoption was the path we were meant to go on, we jumped in wholeheartedly and can’t wait for the day we can bring a child into our home and start our lives as a family.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
