dear expectant mother

We understand and sympathize with you. This is a difficult and stressful time for you as you consider the best path for you and your precious baby. We want you to know all members of our family will love your child unconditionally. What you are considering is absolutely commendable and courageous. Your baby’s safety, emotional and mental state, and overall well-being are paramount to us.

We raise our kids to be respectful yet secure in being able to voice their own thoughts. We encourage them to be themselves, get creative, be active, and learn. We are truly humbled you would consider us to go through the adoption process with you. We are excited and nervous about it ourselves, knowing that one of our dreams could come to fruition. Our two kids are also enthusiastic about having either a younger brother or sister. Fiona has even started her own random “adoption” of “baby sisters” she sees at the park. She wants to call all of her new girl friends her sister.

Thank you for considering us, and we hope you can feel the love we have to offer your precious little one. We would be happy to answer any questions you have about us.

About Us

We met while we were both active duty in the Navy but didn’t start dating until about a year later, in 2010. Amanda was stationed in D.C. at the time, and Zach was stationed in Virginia. In 2013 we got married and, after our long deployments, decided to start a family. We got lucky and were both stationed in Hawaii for a little over three years, where both of our kids were born. Amanda got out of the Navy in 2018 to be able provide more stability at home for our kids and pursue her own culinary desires. Zach is still active duty, which means we benefit from traveling. We enjoy spending time with family and close friends. We are fairly easygoing and laid back and enjoy comedies and being outside.

Our Home & Pets

We have a nice two-story, four-bedroom home in Virginia with plenty of space for the kids to play. We enjoy going to the different parks in our neighborhood, and the kids really enjoy being able to play with the other kids on our street. Our neighborhood is family friendly, and everyone tends to look out for one another. There are local festivals that are fun to go to each year. We have one dog, a Cavalier King Charles named Reese. She is nine years old and is absolutely the sweetest and most well-behaved dog ever.

Our Extended Family

We both come from semi-large families. Amanda has one younger brother and nine cousins. Zach is the youngest of five kids with two older half-sisters, a half-brother, and another brother—and more cousins than he can remember.

For Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, we like to have large family meals and be together. Generally, if we are home for the holidays, we like to invite friends over if they don’t have somewhere else to go; that way they don’t have to be alone during those times. One thing we enjoy doing as a family is every Sunday we go out for breakfast, and it is something the kids always look forward to. Every night we read a book to the kids before bed. We try to introduce a new book to both of our kids every week. It keeps them excited on a weekly basis in anticipation of what their new book will be. In Fiona’s case, she likes to “read” us her made-up version of the stories, which are always entertaining to listen to.

What Led Us To Adoption

We knew we wanted a big family, but after having a miscarriage and complications during the other two pregnancies, we knew any additional children would be through the miracle of adoption. This is our first time adopting, and we are excited to finally be on this journey. Amanda has extended family that have adopted multiple times before, and the family couldn’t possibly be any happier.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.

Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.

The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.

Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
