dear expectant mother
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and taking a glimpse into our lives. We understand this is an incredibly difficult and emotional decision for you, and we admire your courage. As you consider an adoption plan, our hope is that you feel loved, supported, and respected throughout the journey.
If given the opportunity, we promise to provide a loving, caring, and safe home for your child, where they will be cherished for exactly who they are. We have so many traditions to pass on, and we’re excited to create so many more as a family. Whether we’re going on family hikes, planting veggies in our garden, playing board games on the back porch, making pancakes on Saturdays, or teaching him or her how to fish, we look forward to creating endless happy memories.
We’re fortunate to have an amazing support system of family and friends, and when people say, “It takes a village,” we truly have one of the best. We have a group of people who will be there to lean on and guide us in tough times and will also be right there celebrating all of the happy moments. We know your child is already loved, and we want you to know we would do everything in our power to make sure they continue to feel loved every single day.
With much love and sincerity,
Jess and Alex
Jess is an eighth grade special education teacher and has been working with youth since 2004. Alex is a culinary instructor at a federal program for at-risk teens/young adults. We both give a lot of ourselves to our students, and our work is a big part of who we are. Our jobs are very challenging but also rewarding on so many levels. We met just over six years ago when we both took a chance with online dating. After exchanging emails for over a month, we went out on our first date and had an instant connection and spark. It did not take long to realize this was the real deal, and our relationship progressed fairly quickly from the get-go. We were married exactly two years after our first kiss and can’t imagine doing life without each other.
Our Home & Pets
We live in an incredibly beautiful part of North Carolina surrounded by state and national forests. We both have a love for the outdoors and spend a lot of our time hiking, biking, fishing, camping, and kayaking. We’ve got a huge backyard with a giant maple tree ready for a swing, our house is minutes from the bike trail, and we really can’t wait to share our love for the outdoors with a little one. We’ve always got a lot going on in our community, including arts and crafts festivals, live music, farmers markets, good restaurants, etc. We have a wonderfully supportive group of friends who have become like family, and our little town would make for an ideal place to raise a family.
Our Extended Family
Jess has a fairly large extended family. She sees her parents, sister, brother in-law, and nieces and nephews several times a year. We mostly see her mom’s family around the holidays, and we take a beach vacation with her dad’s side almost every year.
Alex is an only child. He has one cousin whom he has been close to his whole life. His unofficial adoptive family are who he considers family. He has two brothers and one sister, all of whom are married. He is the godfather to his oldest niece and has three other nieces and a nephew. We are both incredibly fortunate to have grandparents who are still with us and mentally as sharp as ever. Jess’s Gammi and Grandad will be celebrating their 69th wedding anniversary in February, and Emmy (Alex’s adoptive grandma) will be 99 in March 2021.
We have a lot of traditions on both sides of the family. With Alex being a chef, many of these involve cooking and food (oyster roast on Christmas, homemade pasta on Christmas Eve, and pig roast for Superbowl, just to name a few!). Our families are truly excited about our adoption journey and can’t wait to welcome another little one into the family.
What Led Us To Adoption
We have both always had a desire in our hearts to adopt. When Alex’s dad became terminally ill, he was cared for by friends who truly became a second family for him. When his mother passed, they became his sole family. Knowing what they have been to him fostered Alex’s desire to adopt. Jess’s sister has two biological children and two children who were adopted. Their addition to our family has been a blessing. We have always planned to adopt or foster in addition to having a biological child. After years of failed fertility treatments, we know a biological child is not in the cards for us, which we have ultimately taken as a sign that we really are meant to adopt.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
