dear expectant mother

With everything you must have going on at the moment, we thank you for reading this. By even contemplating adoption, we think you’re a brave and generous soul. We will not pretend we have any idea what you’re going through as you face this decision, but we will listen as much, or as little, as you like and will truthfully answer any questions.

Initially at least, here’s what we want you to know about us: Know we try to live life to the fullest, to be kind to people, and not to judge anyone. We have fun as much as possible, but we also know what it is to fight through hardship. We are total goofballs, but we know when respect and restraint are called for. Not only can we love your child to pieces but we love each other too. Your child would be coming into a warm environment, not a home filled with tension and discord. We’re not perfect, but we would give your child everything we have to give.

We of course hope you determine we can provide you with the option you’re looking for, but we understand only you know what’s best. Whatever will be, will be. And with that, we wish you all the best, regardless of what you decide to do.

About Us

We love to be silly, and we spend copious amounts of time tickling our son, Winston. In return, he pretends that he is eating us. When one of us misspeaks, we get a kick out of it and repeat the nonsensical word until it becomes our own meme. We have been this way ever since a friend introduced us in 2005. When we’re not being silly, you might find us playing games, visiting with friends, going to museums, reading, running, playing music, going to neighborhood festivals, watching Netflix, or traveling. We welcome new experiences and share a love of learning. Of course, we work hard too. Adam is a compassionate nurse, and Kim is a lawyer furthering justice. Adam is the chair of a committee at work, and Kim is a member of a professional board and church council.

Our Home & Pets

Our neighborhood in Illinois is full of kids. Our condo building is full of kids. When friends come over, our condo is full of kids. We’d like there to be one more kid on a permanent basis. In the summer, we set up a pool on our large deck, and we grill out. In the winter, we make snowmen. When we’re inside, we enjoy spending time with our house bunnies, Duncan and Tess, whose interests include eating cardboard, playing chase, and grooming their amazing coats.

Our Extended Family

Adam’s mother, two brothers, sister-in-law, niece, and nephew live in Nebraska, as does Kim’s father. Kim’s sister lives in Georgia. For holidays, Adam’s mother likes to make a big meal for the family. Kim’s family, however, keeps things easy with a nice meal out at a restaurant.

Both families enjoy playing board games and cards. In addition, Kim’s dad and Winston are both passionate about trains. All aboard! Grandpa hopes this is not a passing phase. Conversely, Adam’s mom conveniently works at a children’s museum, allowing Winston and his cousins to enjoy routine visits to the museum. We note that the museum has a train. Adam’s mom also recently rescued a kitten named Sonny. Although we previously doubted that anyone could ever be as energetic as Winston, he may have met his match.

What Led Us To Adoption

Before Winston came along, we had some fertility issues, but when we discussed the situation, we realized we did not care whether our children shared our genes. We signed up with Angel Adoption and brought home our wonderful Winston. Almost three years later, we’re still in touch with his birth family. That said, we long for a second kiddo to be silly with. Winston tells anyone who will listen that he wants a sibling. He would make a great big brother. So here we are for round two at Angel Adoption. We are confident that we will bring home the child who is meant to join our family.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.

Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.

The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.

Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
