dear expectant mother
Thank you, we greatly appreciate that you are taking the time to view our profile. No doubt it can be overwhelming with all the information that is out there – so many hopeful faces and families. Making a decision, not just for yourself but for your precious child is difficult, so please know that whatever decision you make, we truly hope you are left with peace in your heart.
While adoption wasn’t our first choice at trying to start a family, now, we can’t imagine it happening any other way. We simply cannot imagine our lives without Jocelyn – when we talk to her about the adoption we say that God made us a family, and we truly believe that. God made all of us a family: our birthmother, birthfather, and their extended families.
Which brings us to here, we feel our family is not yet complete, we have so much more love to offer. There is room at our table and if you choose, we welcome you to sit down and join us.
Aaron grew up in the Midwest, playing hockey and baseball and rooting for the Bears and Cubs. Christy was born and raised in Florida but has never been on an episode of ‘Cops.’ We met through work in 2005. There was an immediate ease around each other, we could chat for hours or sit in silence but mostly, we loved making each other laugh.
Moderation would be a great word to describe our lifestyle. We are both gym rats but we don’t live at the gym and we try to eat healthy but we also know that sometimes you just need a big juicy burger and fries…and a milkshake. We try not to take ourselves too seriously. We find lots of opportunities to laugh at ourselves. We love going for walks around the neighborhood, riding our bikes along the river trail. We also enjoy cozy evenings at home with Netflix.
Aaron is currently the Vice President of Marketing & Sales for a wireless retailer and enjoys snowmobiling and cheering on all the Chicago sports teams. Christy is working her dream job as a stay at home mom to Jocelyn and enjoys volunteering in various local non-profits and pinning recipes and projects to her Pinterest Boards that she never intends on making. In 2015, we became true Midwesterners and bought a place ‘Up North’. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s on a beautiful lot on a small lake just big enough for tubing and skiing and excellent for standing on the end of the dock and fishing. We have already made so many wonderful family memories there.
Our Home & Pets
Many will say their dream home includes a house on a huge lot with lots of privacy – not us. We feel we are in the perfect home and neighborhood in the suburbs of Chicagoland; lots and lots of sidewalks, trails running behind and through the subdivision, three separate playgrounds and a large park with two baseball diamonds and a soccer/football field. But more importantly, it’s a neighborhood filled with families, where when the weather is nice you throw out some chairs and hang out in your driveway and chat with neighbors, have impromptu get-togethers as you take the dog for a walk. Our house is a four bedroom, two-story home with a screened-in cedar porch and a finished basement. We have one of those neighborhood playgrounds one house down from us. There are all kinds of great family activities close by: water parks, amusement parks, forest preserves, children’s museums and a beautiful bike/walk trail along the river that goes for miles and miles. We have a 10-year-old rescue pup named Cassie, who is the sweetest ‘big sister’ to Jocelyn.
Our Extended Family
We both grew up children of divorce. We experienced lean times and heartbreak but also how family pulls together when times get hard and the appreciation that comes from doing without. Over the past 12 years we have worked really hard for everything that we have and don’t take any of it for granted.
Aaron is very close with his two brothers, Don & Paul. Living in the Chicagoland area, we often take advantage of being so close to Wisconsin to spend weekends with Aaron's family including his mom, stepdad, dad and our three beautiful nieces (baby cousin 4 is due in July!). It has been so much fun watching Jocelyn and her cousins grow up together.
Christy is the youngest with two older brothers and an older step-brother. Although her family is more spread out, Christy loves spending time with them when she can (especially when it means a trip to Florida in February). She is very close with her mom, stepdad and dad. She also remains close with her oldest brother and his family including two awesome nephews. Although, there was no history of adoption on either side, both Aaron and Christy’s extended family have embraced Jocelyn and the open adoption with open arms.
Our Adoption Story
We were barely through our home study when we were matched with a birth mother in 2012. She ultimately decided to parent however we were soon matched again with another birth mother, Jocelyn’s birth mother, our angel! We received the call close to midnight on October 15th and after frantically booking our flight and packing our bags we arrived at the hospital in Tacoma, Washington an hour and a half before Jocelyn Marie was born on Tuesday, October 16th, 2012. We are fortunate enough to have an open adoption with both of Jocelyn’s birth parents. We send them both regular updates, including a ‘yearbook’ every Christmas, filled with pictures and have visits once a year. Christy created a Facebook page with just Jocelyn Marie – and told the birthparents to invite whomever, family and friends to the page. Christy updates the page with pictures and milestones and the occasional video (like when Jocelyn recently learned to swim independently in swim class!) We have also built a relationship with our birthparents extended family and often visit them, too, when we visit. Family, is family, is family is how we look at it.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
