dear expectant mother
We believe it goes without saying, but you are a hero. You do not need the cape or matching tights to earn that distinction. You are giving your child the gift of life, and that is the greatest gift of all. We are grateful and humbled to even be considered to be a part of your adoption journey. We can only imagine the countless hours you have spent trying to decide how you want to move forward. If we are chosen, we will tell your child about the selfless sacrifice you made for them and that it was a decision you made with careful consideration and love.
We are sure that with each profile you read, you imagine a different future for your child. We promise that a child joining our family will be so cherished. Shontai will be a stay-at-home mom who will make warm meals, listen to hopes and fears, and give hugs. Matt is a provider who will play with your child when he comes home while also providing fatherly guidance as your child grows up. Your child will experience new cultures through travel and be raised in a financially and emotionally stable home. Most importantly, your child will not have a shortage of love from a community that eagerly awaits their addition.
We want to thank you for allowing us to share our life with you. Whatever decision you make in this process, we pray you feel peace and certainty that it is the right choice.
About Us
We have been married for 7 years and enjoy spending time together! Matt’s job as an airline pilot brought us to Texas. We love to use Matt’s flight benefits and travel internationally 3-4 times a year. Shontai speaks Chinese and has a bubbly personality; she is often found in a group setting chatting with friends and easily located by her laugh. As a housewife who plans to be a stay-at-home mom, Shontai is known for her homemade bread, making matching family shirts, and always learning a new skill. Matt also loves to share a joke and feed a friend dinner. More importantly, Matt is a man of integrity; friends and family often call him for advice and trust his judgment. We have filled our home with bbq’s, holiday parties, and game nights. Now, it is our deepest desire to add to our family the joy that only children can bring!
Our Home & Neighborhood
In 2020, we bought our home in a charming, small town near a major Texas metroplex. It is a brick home with four bedrooms and a large kitchen island that we gather around regularly. The most important fixture in our home is Buddy! Buddy is a friendly pug that loves a cheeky treat, going for walks, and lap time! Anyone that meets Buddy agrees that his name matches his personality perfectly.
The low crime rate and award-winning school district are what initially attracted us to the area, but what has made us stay is the people! Our neighborhood includes a pool, a nature trail, and a park. Our area also has theme parks, an arboretum, and museums that are perfect for family day trips.
Our Family & Friends
We have a close extended family. Shontai has a twin sister who lives in Texas, a few hours away. They talk on a daily basis and have regular "twin weekends" where they enjoy spending quality time together. Matt also has family who live close by. His parents even moved to Texas to be near us! We have monthly visits and spend every Christmas together at our home. Matt's cousin with three kids and a fourth on the way also lives nearby on a small farm in Oklahoma that we visit for Thanksgiving and other holidays.
The rest of our extended family does not live nearby. Shontai's parents, older sister, niece, and nephew live in Washington State. We stay in contact with FaceTime and annual get-togethers. Last year, we took Shontai's parents on a cruise and look forward to more family cruises! We also have a large extended family network of twenty-nine aunts and uncles who live in Utah and Idaho.
One of our favorite traditions is to have a family Halloween costume! Our favorite so far was our costume from last year. Matt dressed up as Wall-E and Shontai was EVE! We are excited for our future family costumes that can include a new family member!
What Led Us To Adoption
We have always wanted children. After fertility treatments and a miscarriage, we are still trying to complete our family. Adoption feels like a natural choice as we have seen firsthand the positives of adoption. Shontai's father and his six siblings are all adopted. We can't imagine a life without her aunts and cousins that are only possible through adoption. We don't see a separation between our adopted and biological family members because we believe we are all an eternal family. Beyond our extended family, our close family friend adopted a set of twins. Over the years, we have watched them grow up, gone to the arboretum with them, and attended their birthday parties. Any child we adopt will be embraced by our community!

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
