dear expectant mother
We know this must be an incredibly challenging time for you, and we greatly admire your courage and determination. Since we have been through an adoption process before, we know how difficult it is for you to make this decision. However, we have also experienced how adoption can be a means to multiply love across families and build lasting relationships. We are committed to making you as comfortable as possible as we go through this journey together and to provide the best home for your child.
If you choose us, we will pass along the values we hold dear. Our upbringings were embedded with service, humility, empathy, curiosity, generosity, and resourcefulness, and we have turned these into themes around which we conduct our personal and professional lives and bring them into our home. Our goal is for our children to be mindful, giving, hard-working, educated, accepting, fierce—but measured—behind principle, resilient, helpful, and solution-oriented.
Our hearts are with you in respect, compassion, and gratitude as you go through this process. Please know that our home will be filled with love, laughter, joy, opportunity, and adventure for any child to thrive, grow, and reach their potential. We are honored that you would consider us for the care of your child, and it is our commitment to you that we will make them a cherished member of our family.
We hope to meet you soon! We wish you the very best, always.
Our Hobbies & Passions
After a busy work week, we love spending quiet (and sometimes not-so-quiet!) weekends as a family. This may include going to soccer practice, swimming lessons, or the climbing gym. We also enjoy running, taking our dog Maisie swimming or for long nature walks, biking, hiking, and volunteering. We also enjoy cooking as a family, with Esme eagerly helping to make cookies, tacos, and pizza!
We are also excited to share our love of traveling with our children. From ancient castles to modern cityscapes, mountain villages to bustling metropolises, Legoland to Disneyland—we embrace the chance to have fun while learning about other cultures, cuisines, traditions, and histories. Our passion for travel also takes us to the Great Outdoors—hiking peaks local and afar, backcountry camping in the Austrian Alps, trail running along lava fields in Hawaii, sea kayaking in the San Juan Islands, and trekking to Machu Picchu. We look forward to many family adventures together!
Our Home & Neighborhood
We live in a quiet neighborhood in Seattle, where our home is perched on top of a hill. We have an open kitchen and family room, perfect for large gatherings – for holidays, Super Bowl parties, and summer barbeques – with family and friends. We cannot wait to share our neighborhood, with its many outdoor spaces for play, a library, a community swimming pool, and special events for children. We live one block away from a beautiful park and playground, and just down the street from a wonderful elementary school. We especially enjoy the sense of community that exists in our neighborhood. Every Halloween, the streets are closed off as local businesses welcome trick-or-treaters. In December, there is a tree lighting ceremony with Christmas carols and a charity gift drive.
Our Family & Friends
Both our parents live nearby, with Matt's father ('Pop Pop' to Esme) recently moving in three blocks from our house and Milah's mother ('Ama') only a few miles away. Esme is thrilled to see more of Pop Pop since he moved and loves it when he drops by. Being so close to our family allows us to have weekly dinners, celebrate holiday traditions (trick-or-treating on Halloween and opening presents on Christmas), and attend events (concerts, movies, sports) together! During the summer, we like to have our Sunday dinners on our patio and enjoy the beautiful weather. Milah's father ('Papito') and stepmother ('Lita') live in Texas and love it when we come to visit, especially over the holidays! Everyone is looking forward to welcoming a new child into their lives as much as we are. We feel fortunate for their support, encouragement, and kindness. Your child will be surrounded by so much love!
We have also developed a close relationship with Esme's birth parents and their six children. To Esme, they are Shu Shu 叔叔 ('Uncle') and A Yi 阿姨 ('Auntie'), and she proudly refers to their other children as her brothers and sisters. In addition to staying in touch to celebrate Lunar New Year, Mother's and Father's Day, and individual birthdays, we visit them in person at least once a year.
Adoption in Our Lives
Our first adoption journey was an amazing experience, and we are excited to grow our family with another wonderful child!
Esme is our almost four-year-old whom we adopted shortly after birth from a loving family. She is the light of our lives and a neverending source of fun and excitement! We love to explore zoos, parks, and museums together, as well as practice our cooking skills as a family! We are also doing our best to teach her Spanish, as Matt lived in Central America at one time.
We stay in close contact with Esme's birth parents to make sure that their connection continues to grow as she gets older. It is also important for us to honor her heritage by enrolling her in a Chinese-speaking school with the goal that she eventually will be able to communicate with her birth parents in their native language.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
