Our Adoption Story

Adam & Grace

Our journey wasn't always easy, but it led us to our daughter and to a birth mother who will always hold a special place in our hearts.

When we couldn't conceive, we knew that adoption had always been part of our hearts anyway. We tried fostering for a while, but felt that adoption was the perfect fit for our family. That feeling became even stronger after having a conversation with Angel Adoption.

Finding Angel Adoption on Google felt like fate. We trusted that they would be seen by expectant mothers who wanted to help grow a family, and that trust would prove to be well-placed.

The Beginning of Our Journey

As we began our second adoption journey, we were nervous because we already knew it could be challenging, but we remained hopeful. We were unsure how a birth family would feel about us having one child already, but we stayed optimistic throughout the process. Our friends and family were excited, happy, and supportive, which gave us strength during the uncertain times ahead.

The biggest challenges we faced were not knowing what would happen and the difficulty of waiting. We encountered failed opportunities, which were very emotional, all while trying to juggle our daily life. We got through the wait by staying busy and focusing on the positive, trying to enjoy what we already had in our lives.

A Mother's Day Miracle

Then came Mother's Day—a day that will forever hold special meaning for us. The baby had already been born when we got the call. This came right after a failed connection, and we were feeling sad. Then suddenly—this amazing opportunity! It was super exciting and felt so different from our previous experiences. We knew it was meant to be.

We flew out to meet the birth mother and baby girl as we moved forward with the paperwork. When we finally met our daughter, she was so tiny, yet she had these big, beautiful eyes. She was just the sweetest baby and still is to this day.

Building Relationships

Originally, the birth mother wanted a closed adoption, but ended up agreeing on a semi open adoption. Since that is what we were wanting, we were pleased with that decision. Our communication with the birth mother has been good. We exchange updates via text, and we share a deep appreciation for one another. The respect and care we have for each other has made this relationship special.

Looking Forward

While we are very happy now, we are open to the idea of adopting again, especially if there were another sibling being placed for adoption. Our experience has taught us that the most important thing is to not get too caught up in your own thoughts or dwell on the negatives. Stay hopeful throughout the process.

Our journey wasn't always easy, but it led us to our daughter and to a birth mother who will always hold a special place in our hearts. For families considering adoption, we want you to know that while the wait can be challenging and emotional, when the right match happens, you'll know it's meant to be.
