Nellie visits her birthfamily in Georgia
Jill and Shayne adopted Nellie in August of 2007. The family just returned from their second trip visiting Nellie’s birthfamily in Georgia. From Jill:
We just returned from our trip to Georgia to visit our daughter’s birthfamily. It’s our second visit since her birth. Open adoption is amazing. Thank you for being a part of our wonderful story. Here’s all of us:
My husband and I are in the back. We’re from Washington state. Nellie’s birthmother and birthfather are in the back row as well. They have five children between them and then our daughter Nellie. The little girl on the right is their granddaughter from Nellie’s birthfather’s eldest daughter. Our daughter is standing next to her birth mom in purple tucked between her birthbrother and birthsister. We spent a weekend with them and it was more than we could have ever asked for. We’ll see them again in January! We consider them our extended family!

One year ago today, adoptive parents Heidi and Kyle received the call they were waiting for…a birthmother had chosen them! From Heidi:
It was one year ago today that you called us about a birth mom. Today, our daughter Eliana is ten months old and the joy of our lives. I just wanted to say I remember how warm you all were and thank you again for helping us find our darling daughter.
