Is Hoping to Adopt a Baby

dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I can only imagine the range of emotions you may be experiencing as you consider an adoption plan for your baby. While I cannot fully understand your journey, I want you to know that I approach you with deep respect, compassion, and gratitude. Thank you for considering me as you make such a loving and courageous decision.

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a mother. Growing up in a close-knit family, I experienced a childhood filled with unconditional love, encouragement, faith, and a sense of belonging. Those experiences shaped the woman I am today and the kind of mother I hope to be. About eight years ago, I began reflecting on adoption as a path to motherhood because I realized what mattered most to me was not how I became a mother, but having the opportunity to love, nurture, and guide a child through life. My faith in God has been a steady source of hope throughout this journey, reminding me to trust the path before me and to lead with love, compassion, and gratitude.

If you choose me to parent your child, they will be surrounded by a loving family and a diverse community of friends who will celebrate who they are and encourage them to become the person they are meant to be. I promise to honor your child's story with honesty and respect, always recognizing the love and courage that brought our lives together. Thank you for considering me to be part of your child's journey.

My Lifestyle

My life is vibrant and I value the simple things that make life enjoyable and meaningful. During the week, I spend time working, but I also make time for what keeps me grounded. I enjoy daily devotionals, running and lifting, kickboxing, spending time with family and friends, and finding opportunities to get outside and explore. I also enjoy quiet evenings at home—a good meal, great conversation, and nowhere else I need to be.

Weekends are a mix of purposeful and rejuvenating activity. I might start a Saturday with a workout, meet a friend for brunch, explore a new restaurant, or spend time with family. I may also cook, read, catch up with friends, go to a concert, and attend church on Sunday. Volunteering and mentoring young people are also important parts of my life. As a mother, I hope to create a life of structure and security, with room for laughter, exploration, and adventure, where even ordinary days are meaningful and memorable.

Our Home & Neighborhood

I believe home is more than a place to live—it is the feeling of being safe, loved, comfortable and surrounded by people who care about you. I currently live in Virginia, outside of Washington, DC, in a neighborhood where people from different cultures, backgrounds, and experiences live, work, and learn together. I look forward to raising a child in an environment that celebrates diversity, offers excellent schools, beautiful parks, museums, libraries, and endless opportunities to grow, learn, explore and live a joyous life. My home is built on faith, warmth, safety, laughter, and people who love to gather. More than anything, my home is a place where my future child will always feel safe, encouraged, and deeply loved.

Our Family & Friends

My faith, family, and community of friends are at the center of my life – these are among the greatest gifts I will share with my future child. My parents taught my brothers and me that family is built on love, commitment, kindness, and service to others. My mother's sisters helped raise me, and our home was filled with extended family, friends, and even people who needed a temporary home. That spirit of hospitality and compassion created lifelong relationships and taught me that family can extend far beyond those we are related to by blood.

We enjoy gathering for holidays, birthdays, dinners, and celebrations that are always filled with great food, storytelling, music, and laughter. Some of my favorite moments are cooking recipes passed down by my mother, great aunt and grandmother, traveling together, or spending time catching up over a meal. My friends are an extension of my family, and many of those relationships span decades. They represent many different cultures and backgrounds, reflecting the wonderfully diverse community I am blessed to be part of. My child will be surrounded by people who will love them wholeheartedly, spoil them with affection, encourage them, and celebrate them for who they are.

My Favorite Adventures

I’ve traveled extensively, and have been fortunate to visit more than forty countries. My favorite memories are not about a particular destination, but the experience of being somewhere unfamiliar, yet welcoming – trying new foods, wandering through a city, immersing in a new culture, and connecting with people. Travel has taught me to be curious, open-minded, and adaptable. I hope to share that sense of curiosity and love for living a vibrant and adventurous life with my child. I also want them to understand that living a vibrant and adventurous life is not limited to traveling- it’s as simple as trying something new. I hope my child grows up excited to explore, comfortable with the unfamiliar, and always eager to ask “what should we discover next.”
