Rachel & Eric
Are Hoping to Adopt a Baby
dear expectant mother
First of all, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering us as adoptive parents to your precious child. We believe that choosing adoption for a child is nothing short of heroic. It is the epitome of a brave and selfless act, and we are forever grateful to you. We are choosing adoption because our second son was born with a very rare genetic disorder. We didn’t know it before, but we learned after he was diagnosed that we actually have a 1 in 4 chance of passing this on to our children. So, when we decided we wanted to grow our family and have a third child we felt that for many reasons it made the most sense for us to adopt. We didn’t realize it, but both Eric and I were thinking about this right around the same time. When we finally talked about it as a couple, we were pretty shocked and amazed to hear that we were on the same page. Thank you for considering us as we look to fulfill our dream. We will do everything in our power to ensure your child has a beautiful life full of love, happiness and opportunity.
Our Lifestyle
We love our house and spend a lot of time hanging out at home together. The world is so busy and chaotic, and we consider our home our safe haven and escape. We do enjoy venturing out and doing things like going to restaurants, parks, exploring forest preserves, spending time at the beach and the pool in the summertime and spending lots of time with friends and family. We are a low-key, relaxed family but we also value routine and consistency with our kids (mealtimes, bedtimes, etc). We travel to New Jersey once a year to see family, usually around Christmastime. We use that as an opportunity to go into New York and have adventures. But we stay close to home most of the time because our dog, Rosie, is 15 years old and needs us! We love watching movies, reading books, going on walks, playing games (Uno is currently our 6 year old’s favorite) and spending time in our backyard- it is about half an acre!

Our Home & Neighborhood
We live in a beautiful suburb about 25 minutes outside of a major city. We are walking distance from several beautiful parks and playgrounds, as well as a community swimming pool/splash pad. The beach is a quick 15 minute drive too. Both the elementary school and junior high school are a few blocks away from our house. We are lucky to say that our public schools are highly rated (top 3% nationally). The neighborhood is extremely clean, safe, and friendly, and neighbors look out for each other.

Our Family & Friends
We are a heterosexual couple in our late 30’s. We have 2 biological sons and a dog named Rosie (and our cat Reggie in heaven, as our son likes to include). Our older son is 6 and the younger one is 2. We are lucky to have found a big group of friends right here in our neighborhood that we get together with almost every weekend. Four or five families get together every Friday night for pizza at a cute local restaurant, followed by ice cream next door. The children all play together beautifully and the “grown ups” have become close friends. Rachel’s parents live 10 minutes away and are super involved. We also have FIVE boy cousins that live in New Jersey and we see them every year for Christmas, and sometimes in the summer too. We also have longtime friends who live all over the country, and we get together with them as often as we can.

What We Love About Each Other
There are many things that we love about each other. What stands out to us the most is that as a couple, we are almost always on the same page. Although we don’t agree on everything all the time (that would be boring) we are in sync and agree on major decisions. Since the start, we also fit so perfectly with the others’ family and it always felt comfortable, familiar and easy. We value the others’ independence and support each other in our careers, hobbies, time with friends, and having our own identities too. But we do love being together and are often texting throughout the day and sharing funny memes. We love to joke around and be silly, and our home is filled with a lot of laughter and good energy. We have been together for 15 years total. It's safe to say we are not just life partners, but best friends.
