If we are fortunate enough to become your child’s family, we promise to raise them with unconditional love, patience, grace, and encouragement. They will always know their adoption story and that our family began because of your incredible act of love and selflessness. Your child would be cherished by us and by a loving community of family and lifelong friends from many backgrounds and cultures. We will encourage their dreams, celebrate who they are, support them through challenges, laugh often, create traditions, and provide every opportunity for them to flourish.
Most importantly, your child will always know how deeply they were loved from the very beginning. Their story will never be hidden, and we will speak about you with love, respect, gratitude, and honesty, because without you, our family would not exist. Thank you for considering us. Whatever path you choose, we admire your courage and wish you peace as you make this loving decision.
Our Lifestyle
Today we live in Illinois, and truly enjoy doing life together.
We're both active people who love staying healthy. We enjoy working out, golfing, taking long walks with our dogs, and spending time outdoors. Darwin plays in a baseball league, and we both enjoy trying new healthy recipes. Kristen loves baking—both healthy treats and not so healthy—and Darwin is an amazing cook. On family vacations, everyone looks forward to the meals he prepares.
Travel is another big part of our lives. We love exploring new places and creating memories together. We've traveled throughout the United States with Kristen's family, including trips to Arizona, Utah, Florida, and Hawaii, and we also enjoy visiting close friends who live across the country.

Our Family & Friends
One of the greatest blessings in our lives is the loving community that surrounds us. Darwin grew up in Venezuela, and his mother and sister now live in North Carolina, while Kristen’s family is spread throughout the western suburbs of Chicago. We spend lots of time together celebrating holidays, birthdays, vacations, and life’s special moments, and everyone is excited to welcome a child into our family.
Every New Year’s, we spend time with Darwin’s mom, sister, and brother-in-law, celebrating with Venezuelan traditions and enjoying time together as a family. We often make the drive a special trip, stopping along the way to visit Kristen’s friends and godchildren. We also take an annual winter or Spring Break trip with Kristen’s family to somewhere warm, planned around the kids’ school schedules.
We are equally blessed with lifelong friendships that feel like family. Kristen remains close with friends from high school and college, including the parents of her godchildren. Darwin has close friends he met 15 years ago when they were all new to this country, as well as friendships from his years in Miami. These relationships have grown through marriages, children, celebrations, loss, and life’s biggest milestones.
We host Friendsgiving every year, enjoy an annual canoe trip, regular barbecues, and cheering each other on at kids’ sporting events. Your child will grow up surrounded by people who will love, encourage, celebrate, and support them every step of the way.
