You have plenty of hard decisions to make, and knowing this is not an easy one, we admire your strength in thinking about putting an adoption plan together for your child. We thank you for taking the time to look through our profile and hope you get a glimpse of our personalities.

The values we would encourage your child to have include an enthusiasm for learning, reading, and exploring the world around them as well as being kind, caring, and loving to all people.

We are hopeful this is just the beginning of a lifelong story that has brought our lives together. We will be respectful of your wishes regarding how open you want this relationship to be. We understand that may change over time but want you to know we will do our best to follow your lead. About Us

Hello! We are Jeff, Kelli and Hugh —a family of three (through adoption)! We are easy-going and enjoy the simple things in life, like lazy football Sundays, going for walks around the neighborhood parks and trails, playing board games in our home (often with a small group of friends), and weekly recreational sports such as soccer, frisbee, and bowling. We often playfully challenge each other with witty banter, such as which is the better part of the Oreo: the cookie (Kelli’s choice) or the cream (Jeff’s choice). We have been together for over 14 years now, married almost 10 years, and are looking forward to expanding our family again! Hugh joined our family in early 2025 and has quite a fun, goofy personality already at only 1 year old! Jeff is a software analyst and is able to work from home; Kelli is a Financial officer, having the flexibility to only work a few days a week for part of the year.

Our Home & Neighborhood

Our son, Hugh, loves to explore the home and is beginning to walk now. He usually is looking through books, or curious about what we are doing. We live in a quiet condo neighborhood in Illinois, with a small park just down the road. We have friends who live about one mile away who have two kids of their own. Our local community has lots of parks with walking paths as well as playgrounds and fields for sporting activities. There is a children’s interactive museum, a dinosaur museum, and lots of libraries with activities for kids of all ages (Kelli enjoys the puzzles). There are usually weekend festivals, water-ski shows, a water park, and a few mini-golf courses for family fun!

Our Family & Friends

We have extended family across the country, with Kelli’s family in Wisconsin and Jeff’s family both here in Illinois and in Texas. We enjoy weekly dinners with Jeff’s parents as we live only 20 minutes away, and they have been a great support system for us over the years, especially when we welcomed home our first son, who was born in another state.

Kelli has three siblings (all married, two of whom have children), and we see them about once a month for a birthday or other holiday celebration. There are six nieces and nephews on Kelli’s side we enjoy spending time with and even babysit from time to time. Jeff has one sibling (married with five children), and although they live in Texas, we usually see them two to three times a year and FaceTime throughout the year to stay in touch.

Kelli enjoys crafts and puzzles with the kids; Jeff enjoys playing Pokemon with some of the nephews. As a family, we usually play board games, go to museums, watch local baseball teams, or go to the arcade.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have always talked about adoption, even when we were dating and talking about our future and what that would hold. We hope to bring love and joy to all the lives whose paths cross our own. Although we have struggled with infertility, we view adoption as a way to expand our family and are open to as much or as little communication as you wish. With Hugh's birth mom, we send pictures about once a week and have occasional video calls when she can. We both have extended family members who were adopted and have supported us in this journey. We understand this decision can be quite difficult and want to ensure we support you as much as we can throughout your child’s life.
