Are Hoping to Adopt a Baby

dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

As we sit down to write this letter, we find ourselves searching for the right words. The truth is, there are no perfect words for a moment that is as important and emotional as this one.

First, we want to acknowledge you. We have so much gratitude and respect as we can only imagine the many emotions—hopes, fears, questions and emotions you may be carrying as you consider adoption for your child. We deeply honor the courage and love behind this incredibly complex decision.

We would like to share a little about ourselves and why adoption has become part of our story. Adoption became part of our story through infertility. While that season brought heartbreak, it also strengthened and affirmed our desire to love and raise a child. We look forward to the everyday moments of family life and most of all, helping a child know how deeply loved and accepted they are.

If we are fortunate enough to be chosen, your child will always know their story began with love and that your place in it matters deeply. We know this choice is deeply personal, and whether you choose us, we hope you feel supported in every step of this journey.

Thank you for taking time to learn about us and for considering our family. We are humbled by the opportunity to share our story with you.

With gratitude and respect,

Our Lifestyle

Our life together is built around the simple moments we love most—walking Archie after work, cooking dinner together, spending time in the garden, tackling home projects, and staying close to friends. During the week, we usually make something simple on the grill, like steak fajitas, then settle in on the couch to watch a show—we are currently loving MasterChef and anything with Gordon Ramsay. On our trip to London last year, eating at his flagship restaurant was a real highlight. On weekends, I love to bake a berry crumble or try a new recipe, most recently Marry Me Chicken. In the garden, we enjoy planting flowers like peonies, petunias, and dahlias, and this year we are also trying our hand at herbs and tomatoes. We also love visiting friends, renovating our home, and taking on projects together. We bought our house just three years ago and have loved making it our own, especially this spring when we built a buffet in the dining room that makes entertaining even more fun.

Our Home & Neighborhood

We live in a cozy split-level home with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a spacious backyard patio where we love gathering with family and friends. Our home is in a quiet family-friendly neighborhood, where children ride bikes and neighbors know one another. We are located near a historic park and a short drive from a charming downtown with restaurants and shops we enjoy. We feel grateful to live in one of the highest-rated school districts in the country and to be so close to many wonderful places. Philadelphia is nearby, and within a couple of hours we can be at the beach or the mountains. We also share our home with a French bulldog who takes his job of guarding the patio doors from squirrels, deer, and bunnies seriously.

Our Family & Friends

We are grateful for a close-knit family and dear friends who live close by. We spend regular time with our parents and siblings, and friends, whether for birthdays, barbecues, or vacations, and we cherish the memories we make together. They have been incredibly supportive throughout our journey to parenthood and look forward to sharing their love and traditions with a future child. Jeremy, his dad, and his brother have shared Eagles season tickets since 1982, and attending home games together is a cherished family tradition.

Amanda’s sisters both have young children: her nephew Declan (“Ducky”), who is 9 months old, her niece Naomi, who is 5, and her nephew Nolan, who is 7. They visit often, and the older two love coming for sleepovers with their aunt and uncle—and playing with their cousin Archie, our 6-year-old French bulldog.

When we imagine our future child, we picture them growing up surrounded by love, encouragement, laughter and a strong sense of belonging. They will have many people in their corner – people who will celebrate their milestones, support their dreams, and remind them every day how cherished they are.

Our Favorite Adventures

Growing up, summers at the Jersey Shore with our families created lasting memories. We both spent days at the beach and evenings on the boardwalk, getting ice cream and playing mini golf with our families. Those trips became some of our favorite childhood memories. We carried that tradition on when we got married and continued to go to the shore each year. We love a round of mini golf, reading on the beach and napping to the tune of the ocean.

We love to travel and recently had the chance to spend time in London and Paris—two places we have both always wanted to see. The food was amazing, the sights were unforgettable, and the experience gave us special memories to share.
