Are Hoping to Adopt a Baby

dear expectant mother

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We know you may have a lot on your heart and mind as you think about what is best for you and your baby. We don't know what your journey has looked like or what you may ultimately decide, but we want you to know how much respect we have for you and how grateful we are that you're considering us.

We have dreamed of becoming parents for years. After a long fertility journey, adoption has given us something we haven't felt in a long time: hope. It's also deeply personal to our family because Andy and his older sister were both adopted. These days, we find ourselves dreaming about the fun stuff. What will make our child belly laugh? Will they love sports or books, or both? What foods will they refuse to eat? We can't wait to discover all the funny little quirks, interests, and talents that will make them who they are.

If you feel we're the right family for your child, it would be one of the greatest honors of our lives. We picture a childhood filled with family dinners, trips to the beach, bedtime stories, adventures, holidays with family and friends, and plenty of ordinary days at home together. We will honor your child's story, welcome their questions, and make sure they always know where they came from and how deeply they are loved. If our paths come together, we hope to get to know you too and build a relationship that feels comfortable and right for everyone.

With love, Jayma & Andy

Our Lifestyle

Our weekdays are a balance of careers we both love and making time for each other. Andy works for a local commercial construction company, spending his days between the office and project sites. Jayma plans and runs events for a tech company, with a mix of office days, working from home, and occasional travel, which Andy often joins her for. Most mornings start with coffee together, and at the end of the day, we love catching up over dinner. Jayma loves to cook, Andy makes a great sous chef, and our evenings usually end with a favorite show and cuddles with our two very spoiled cats, Ava and Oliver.

On weekends, we love exploring the Pacific Northwest, wandering our neighborhood farmers market, practicing yoga, spending sunny days at the beach or lake, or sneaking away for a weekend trip. We also spend lots of time with Jayma's mom and our close friends and their kids, whether we're cheering on the UW Huskies, bowling, or hanging out at the park.

We love an adventure, but we're just as happy at home.

Our Home & Neighborhood

Jayma was born and raised in Washington, while Andy grew up in Colorado. We chose to settle in Washington and it has truly become home for both of us. We love our beautiful, family-friendly community, with beaches, parks, great schools, a year-round farmers market, and favorite local spots (including our go-to taco truck and sushi restaurant!). Our home has plenty of room to grow, plus a rooftop deck perfect for summer BBQs, playing in the sunshine, and watching the sunset. We're homebodies at heart and love cooking, game nights, and movies with Ava and Oliver. For Jayma especially, there's something incredibly special about imagining our child exploring the same neighborhoods, mountains, and parks she loved as a kid and making their own memories in the Pacific Northwest.

Our Family & Friends

We feel so grateful that our child will grow up surrounded by a loving, close-knit circle of family and friends.

Jayma's mom lives only 45 minutes away and cannot wait to become a grandma (and will almost certainly spoil her grandchild!). Jayma is an only child, but her closest friends have truly become sisters over the past 20 years. Most now have kids of their own, so our village comes with honorary aunts and uncles and built-in playmates. We spend lots of time together celebrating birthdays and holidays, enjoying lake days, taking trips, or simply catching up over coffee and dinner.

Andy comes from a close extended family in Colorado and is very close with his parents, older sister, cousins, and lifelong friends. We visit regularly for holidays and family time, and some of Andy's favorite childhood memories are vacations with his cousins in the Colorado mountains and at the lake. We can't wait for our child to join these traditions and create new ones with us. Between Colorado and Washington, they'll have a pretty wonderful group of people in their corner.

Adoption in Our Lives

Adoption has always had a special place in our family because Andy and his older sister were both adopted. Andy grew up with loving, supportive parents who gave them every opportunity they could, and his childhood showed us firsthand how beautifully a family can be created through adoption.

Andy also knows that being adopted can come with questions and emotions that aren't always simple. Having lived that experience himself, he hopes to be someone our child can relate to as they grow and understand their own story. We want adoption to be something we talk about openly and with love, while always honoring where our child came from. For us, adoption isn't simply a path to parenthood; it already feels like part of our family.
