Brian grew up on a dairy farm, where he learned the value of hard work and the joy of being close to nature. Today his brother runs the family farm, and we love visiting to spend time with our nieces and nephew while enjoying the peaceful rural setting. Emily grew up surrounded by her extended family, spending holidays together with traditions like playing epic games of spoons in her grandparents’ basement and watching classic movies. These experiences instilled a deep love for family connections and traditions that we carry forward in our lives. Although our immediate families live in different cities, we make frequent visits to stay close. Emily’s family often joins us for concerts and music events, creating fun and memorable moments together.
Here in our city, we’ve built a chosen family—friends who have become like family. We cherish game nights, shared meals, and outings with them, especially attending local independent league baseball games with their children. These relationships bring so much joy and meaning to our lives. Family, whether by blood or by choice, is central to who we are, and we can’t wait to share these connections and traditions with a child of our own.
