Are Hoping to Adopt a Baby

dear expectant mother

Dear Birth Family,

We hope that as you read this, you feel the love, gratitude, and respect behind every word. We can only imagine how emotional this season must be for you. Considering adoption and choosing a family for your child takes incredible courage and selflessness, and we will never lose sight of that.

For as long as she can remember, Elizabeth dreamed of becoming a mother. The right time, place, and partner never quite aligned—until she met Jordan. From our very first conversations, we discovered we shared the same dream of building a family through adoption. It wasn't a backup plan; it was a joyful "of course."

That dream became reality when we adopted our daughter, Charlotte. She has filled our home with more laughter, love, and adventure than we ever imagined. Our open adoption with Charlotte's birth parents has taught us that adoption doesn't replace family—it expands it. Charlotte's birth parents are not just part of her adoption story; they are part of our family story. They are cherished members of our family, and we are grateful for the love and connection they share with Charlotte.

Watching Jordan become a dad made Elizabeth fall in love with him all over again. Our home is filled with bedtime cuddles, early morning playtime, kitchen dance parties, two very spoiled rescue dogs, and a lot of laughter. We dream of watching Charlotte become a big sister—sharing adventures, traditions, and a lifetime of love.

Whatever you choose, we wish you peace, strength, and happiness. Thank you for allowing us to share a small piece of our family with you.

With love, Jordan & Elizabeth

Our Love Story

Jordan and Elizabeth met online and spent a week talking before our first date. Elizabeth had recently returned to dating, and as a small business owner, her time was limited. Jordan worked from home and hoped to meet someone who wanted something real.

Jordan says Elizabeth’s profile caught his attention because she had great taste in movies and seemed like she might be funny. Elizabeth knew something was different because conversation with Jordan felt effortless—we could talk for hours and never run out of things to say.

Just days after our first date, Jordan’s grandfather passed away. Although our relationship was still new, Elizabeth drove an hour to be with him. We spent the night talking about life, loss, family, and the things that matter most. Jordan says that was the moment he knew he wanted to spend his life with her.

We married in March 2023, and since then, we have built a life filled with laughter, support, and unconditional love. We feel incredibly lucky to have found a partner who truly understands us and makes us better every day.

Our Home & Neighborhood

Jordan and I are fortunate to call a family-friendly Florida suburb home. We chose our community because of its welcoming atmosphere, excellent schools, and close proximity to Jordan’s parents, who are retired and eagerly awaiting more grandparent adventures.

Our neighborhood offers so many opportunities to make memories together, from farmers market mornings and exploring nearby nature preserves to afternoon walks in the sunshine with Molly and Luna. With parks, family activities, museums and nature close by, it is a wonderful place to grow a family.

Our home is also shared with Molly and Luna, our two adopted rescue dogs. They are friendly, gentle, and beloved members of our family who bring extra joy, laughter, and personality into our everyday lives.

Our Family & Friends

We are incredibly fortunate to have a close-knit village of family and friends who are already eagerly awaiting the opportunity to welcome another child into our lives.

Three of our parents live nearby, are retired, and enjoy all the everyday moments that come with being grandparents—playtime, adventures, and quality time together. We spend holidays and special occasions surrounded by Jordan’s family, including his brother, sister, grandmothers, and extended family.

Jordan is especially close with his family, and some of our favorite memories are the simple ones: family board game nights, cooking together, sharing meals, and “stopping by because we were in the neighborhood.” We hope our children grow up knowing that family is always close by and always there.

Our village also includes Charlotte’s birth parents, who are an important and cherished part of our family. We have a close relationship with them and talk with them every week. They have brought so much love and connection into Charlotte’s life, and we are grateful for the relationship we continue to build together.

We are also blessed with friends who feel like family. Elizabeth’s longtime dance partners and friends gather with us for dinners, holidays, and game nights, and they are excited to love another child as “Aunt” and “Uncle.” Our child will grow up surrounded by people who celebrate them, support them, and remind them how deeply they are loved.

Adoption in Our Lives

Adoption has always been a part of how we understand family. Both of us were raised by loving step-parents who showed us that family is built through love, commitment, and choosing one another every day.

We have experienced the joy of welcoming loved ones into our family through adoption, including our daughter, Charlotte, and our two rescue dogs. Elizabeth’s aunt Martha also adopted her daughter, Rebecca, who became Elizabeth’s cousin and childhood best friend. Today, Rebecca remains one of Elizabeth’s closest friends. She was always known and loved as family.

We hope every child in our family grows up knowing they are deeply loved, fully known, and surrounded by the people who helped bring them into our lives
