Afshan & Najeeb

We are a spiritual, family-first couple who feels deeply grateful for the life and relationships surrounding us. Having grown up in large extended families, our childhoods were filled with family trips, celebrations, laughter, encouraged curiosity, experiential learning, and adventures. Some of our happiest memories were made simply being together; we dream of creating those same traditions with our child.

Family is at the center of our lives. We spend much of our time with loved ones, celebrating milestones and everyday moments. We are also blessed with an incredible circle of close friends we call our “2 am friends” — friends who feel like family who show up without questions.

We believe the greatest currencies in life are time and relationships, and we have intentionally built our lives around both. Afshan plans to be a full-time mom, while Najeeb’s flexible schedule allows him meaningful time at home.

We also enjoy cooking, entertaining, reading, travel and exploration, foreign films, SEC football, volunteering, adventure and wellness activities, and exploring new cultures, countries, beaches, mountains, festivals, and adventures together.

We live in a warm, close-knit cul-de-sac where children ride bikes, play basketball, and race mini-cars outside while neighbors gather for walks and family time. What we love most is the strong sense of community. Holidays become shared celebrations, from Halloween block parties with themed family costumes to everyday acts of kindness, like a neighbor surprising us with SEC Football Championship tickets. An Uber driver once remarked, “You seem like the kind of neighbors who give out full-size candy bars on Halloween,” which perfectly captures the spirit of our street.

We are also ideally located near top-rated schools, a major medical corridor, parks, libraries, recreation centers, grocery stores, festivals, and family activities. It’s a place where children feel safe, supported, and truly at home.

One of our greatest gifts is the community of family and friends surrounding us. Your child will grow up deeply loved, celebrated, and securely woven into a large, joyful family that treasures time together.

Most of our happiest memories are centered around togetherness — multi-day family weddings filled with laughter, song, and dance, summer barbecue gatherings when relatives come into town, beach vacations, Disney and Six Flag adventures, spontaneous coffee and tea runs, and trips around the country and world to visit loved ones. Birthdays are rarely celebrated alone; even Afshan’s sister and she shared birthdays together surrounded by family traditions and too much cake.

What we love most is that no occasion feels too small to celebrate. Right now, twenty-two family members across the country are secretly practicing a dance together so we can surprise a new bride and groom at an upcoming wedding - and every generation is involved. Moments like this perfectly reflect the kind of family in which we hope to raise your child — warm, supportive, playful, and deeply connected.

Above all, your child will always know they belong to a close-knit village that shows up for one another with love, joy, and open arms.

Adoption has been in our hearts for many years. Looking back, we feel stories of adoption have gently been placed all around us through friends, family, and colleagues whose lives have been beautifully shaped by it. We have spent meaningful time with families built through adoption, and each story deepened our understanding of the love, connection, and purpose it brings.

Over time, we realized our deepest desire was not simply to have a biological child, but to become parents — to love, guide, encourage, and nurture a child wholeheartedly. With open hearts, we know adoption is the path for our family. We are filled with gratitude, joy, and readiness for the opportunity to grow our family in such a beautiful and meaningful way.
