Danny & Jess

Fresh out of college, we were both excited to begin our careers and explore Chicago. One night, we ended up at the same bar, brought together by mutual friends. And by fate, we were immediately left alone, forced to create small talk. We soon realized we had a lot in common & quickly became curious about one another.

After Danny got the courage to ask Jess out, each moment together just got better and better - we couldn’t stop laughing and soon became inseparable. We got married after 5 years and can’t imagine a life without one another. Through all of life's ups and downs, we remain each other's biggest champions and steady support.

The biggest high point in our love story has been welcoming our daughter Maddie (3). She is silly, kind, fearless and smart, and we feel grateful every day that her birth family chose us to parent her. We look forward to writing the next chapter of our story by welcoming another child.

We purchased our 4 bed, 3 bath home in 2016 and absolutely love our neighborhood in the Chicago suburbs. We landed here because it’s within an hour of our families and Chicago, but proximity wasn’t the only thing to offer. There’s a vibrant walking and biking path that leads straight to several playgrounds, sports fields, a large pond and the library all within minutes from home. We’ve also enjoyed local kayaking, bowling, painting classes, piano bars, street festivals, nature preserves and music venues.

Since moving in, we’ve enjoyed renovating every room in our 1960’s home including building a custom fireplace and bar in our basement - all DIY. We love taking on projects, working together and learning new things!

We are incredibly close with our families, and are fortunate that we all enjoy spending time together. We love big, joint family holidays together like Thanksgiving at Jess’ parent’s house, egg hunts at our house and joint vacations under the sun in Orlando. We love playing board games and doing puzzles, watching football, cooking and baking, making music and trying new things as a family. We also have family cabins in Minnesota and Michigan where we enjoy spending time on paddleboats, fishing and building campfires under the stars.

Our children will have two active and engaged sets of grandparents to love them - Gigi & Papa on Jess’ side and Nene & Papa on Danny’s side. They will also have an Uncle Arron & Auntie Allison on Jess’ side, and an Aunt Rachel on Danny’s side. All three are silly, sweet and involved parents to our nieces Lennox (8), Laine (6) and Claire (3) - the absolute best cousins!

About Jess by Danny “Be and see the good in the world.” Jess is a constant reminder of this for me. She is one of the most selfless people I know. Watching Jess as a mom is the best gift. Her patience, kindness and learning lessons have shaped our daughter into a wonderful person. Her impact on all our lives is undeniable.

About Danny by Jess When you first meet Danny, his humor and ability to befriend everyone around him is electrifying. He’s one of those people that everyone loves to be around. It’s so heartwarming to see Danny as a dad. From countless rounds of coffee shop and silly chalk drawings, to messy pony tails and mismatched outfits, there are always giggles and fun when dad is around.
