Dear Birthmom

We want you to know that we will devote our lives to loving, providing, caring for, and teaching your baby. Family has always been the most important thing to both of us. It’s one of the reasons we fell in love with each other. We have so much love for each other and we can’t wait for the opportunity to share that with your baby.

Shannon’s birthmother made that hard decision many years ago and we are forever grateful to her, and so is her mother. After 8 miscarriages, Shannon was the light she had almost stopped daring to hope for. We are so amazed at the opportunity to add additional chapters to an already beautiful adoption story.

We hope you are as proud of yourself as we are of you. We cannot even fathom how difficult this decision is. We do not take this lightly. There are really no words to express how grateful we are…and will always be.

About Us

We met on Christmas Eve 2012, while Shannon was working. Mike was living across the country, but was home visiting his family for the holidays. We spent the next 2 weeks together and fell in love. When it was time for him to go back to California, we had to decide if we wanted to part ways or continue in a very difficult long-distance relationship. Despite the trials of the distance, we realized we wanted to make it work, which led to spending the next 6 months apart. The following July, Mike moved home and a year later, we bought our first home. 6 months after that we got engaged and were married July of 2015.

Shannon is a stay at home foster parent. When not busy with that, she’s exercising, hiking with the dogs, playing softball, spending time with friends and family, cooking, and volunteering for our community. Michael is a Medical Device Service Specialist. He graduated from Marquette University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering. Mike is an avid runner who has competed in many races, including 2 Marathons. He also loves to fish, spend time with his family, play with the dogs, and cheer Shannon on while she plays softball. Our favorite place to be, when we have time, is at our lake house in Northern Wisconsin.

Our Home & Pets

We live at the end of a quiet cul-du-sac in a two-story home with four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms and a fenced in back yard. We are surrounded by very friendly neighbors with small children whom we enjoy spending time with. The city we live in is big enough for good shopping, parks, and restaurants, but also small enough to feel safe with a close-knit community which we enjoy being a part of and helping out when we can.

Our pets include: Zumi—a rescue pup (mixed breed), Bella—our old girl (Siberian Husky), Chloe—rescue kitty from the Humane Society (Calico Domestic Shorthair), and our fancy boy, Mister Prince Meowingtons (Ragdoll). Someday, we hope to move to the country where we can expand our furry family. Shannon grew up on a farm with lot of animals and we’d love to be able to provide that same adventurous life for our children.

As we mentioned before, Shannon was adopted and raised an only child. At age 28, her maternal grandmother found her, and she found out she had a half-sister and a half-brother. She is fairly close with them, but they are much younger and live on the East Coast. Mike is also an only child and since neither of us were raised with siblings, we have become extremely close with our first cousins. Their kids are like our nieces and nephews. Strong family ties are very important to us. We get together with our cousins, cousins’ kids, aunts, uncles, parents and grandparents on a regular basis for cookouts, sporting events, holidays, vacations, sleepovers, etc.

What Led Us To Adoption

Since Shannon was adopted herself, adoption has always been on our hearts. After two years of infertility and three miscarriages, we decided to foster children, which we love to do. We have loved fostering so much but are now ready to grow our family through adoption.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.

Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.

The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.

Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
