We cannot begin to say how privileged and grateful we are that you have taken the time to consider us as parents for your child. We know you are faced with a difficult decision with so many unknowns, so we recognize and respect how much courage you have to seek adoption. We want you to know that we have been hoping and praying for a baby that we can love unconditionally and we know that God has a perfect plan to lead us to a child that we are meant to love and cherish for all time.
Please know that our prayers have been with you and your baby long before you have seen this profile, and our prayers will stay with you into the future. We hope we can be a blessing to your child, as we know your child will be a blessing to us. We look forward to your baby’s sweet little story, where your page meets ours.
Hello, our names are Christen and Doug. Our story began almost 10 years ago when we met on eHarmony; it was love at first sight. We quickly knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, build a family, and have God at the center of our lives and relationship. From our wedding day our stories became one, and we have now been married for almost 8 years, but we still feel like newlyweds. Christen grew up in Illinois on the Southside of Chicago and later moved to the suburbs to complete high school, where her family still resides today. Christen has taught preschool, high school as well as college level students. She currently works as a Career Pathways Coach helping students determine a major and find employment. Christen has a love for photography, musical theater, and running a ministry to clothe children around the world. Doug grew up in Colorado where most of his family still lives. Even though he’s been in Illinois for many years, he still loves the mountains. He played football for 10 years, which helped put him through college, before accepting a job in Illinois. Today, he is in charge of marketing for a company that makes some of the largest equipment on Earth and he loves to play in the dirt. We love nature, hiking, traveling and experiencing new things together. We make our way to the zoo in every new city we visit.
Our Home & Pets
In the most recent chapter of our lives, we are very excited to have just built our dream home in a new subdivision that is filled with a lot of families with young children. Our home is 2 stories with 4 bedrooms and has an open floor plan with a lot of room to play. We have a nice big backyard that looks out to wetlands, where we sometimes see wildlife. We built our home with the hopes of expanding our family and we have a lot of room to grow and make memories. We live in a community that prides itself on having excellent schools, a family-centered park district and lots of fun local activities. After losing our beloved fur baby, Riley, the world's most spoiled cat, we recently rescued two adorable kittens named Wicket and Willow. They are excited to have a brother or sister that they can love unconditionally and play with.
Our Extended Family
We both feel extremely blessed to come from very hardworking, loving and supportive families. Both of our parents have been married for over 40+ years, and we were both raised in faith-filled homes. We have a deep desire to carry on these traditions within our own family. Christen’s parents live about 10 minutes from us and she has two sisters that also live in the area. Her sisters have younger children, including 3 nieces and 2 nephews. Doug’s parents and sister live in Colorado and we make 2-3 trips every year to visit the family. Doug’s sister and brother-in-law have 3 children, including 2 boys and a girl. We are privileged to support all the kids in their activities ranging from football, soccer, basketball, dance and gymnastics and pride ourselves on being the favorite aunt and uncle. All the kids are excited to have another cousin and our parents are thrilled to have another grandchild.
What Led Us To Adoption
Since the moment our story began and we fell in love and got married, we always had a deep desire to expand our family and raise children. We love spending time with our nieces and nephews, as well as our friend’s children. We have an overabundance of love in our hearts and have been excited to share this love with our future children. Over the course of many years, we tried to conceive naturally. After 6 years of infertility and Christen enduring multiple surgeries, we realized that God was calling us to adoption. We began exploring the adoption process and our excitement grew as we realized what a blessing raising a child will be. We are overjoyed to provide a baby with a safe, loving and faith-filled home.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
