dear expectant mother
It must be overwhelming reading through profile after profile, trying to find the right adoptive parents for your precious little one. We are honored to be among those you are considering. We wish you peace and guidance as you make this choice and look forward to the opportunity to get to know you.
We’ve been trying to grow our family for a while, and have felt mind-numbing heartache when our dreams ended in miscarriage. For a long time now, we’ve felt like parents who don’t have a baby. We’re ready for sleepless nights and long to watch a baby grow into his or her own personality right in front of our eyes. We want to be there for the baby giggles, the fevered crying, and everything in between. We want to help a child discover the world.
We’re so excited to see where this process will take us. Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little bit about us. We look forward to becoming parents through the miracle of adoption.
We got married in November of 2014 in Alicia’s hometown in South Dakota. Shortly after we tied the knot, we moved to South Carolina. We both wanted to experience living in a different part of the country and were eager to get out of the cold for a while. We expected to be down there for five to ten years, but like other things in life our plans changed. After Chris was in a motorcycle accident that resulted in a below-the-knee amputation, we decided to move back to Minnesota to be closer to family.
Chris works for a communication company and has held different positions within the company over the past six years. Currently he’s working as a sales associate in a local store. While down south, Alicia started working as a freelance writer. Because she works from home, she was able to continue with this line of work even during the move.
Chris is a die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan and an avid gamer. Alicia is a lover of books. We both enjoy kayaking, hiking, walking with our dogs, playing board games with our friends and family, spending a day on the lake, watching some of our favorite TV shows on Netflix, and traveling.
Our Home & Pets
Our house sits on a quiet, dead-end street in a small neighborhood, so luckily we don’t see much traffic. The split-level home has four bedrooms and sits on a small lake. The front and back yards are large and will be the perfect place for a child to play! We are just a short drive from town and are located in a good school district.
We have two dogs, an eight-year-old mutt, Perdy, and a one-year-old tripod Doberman, Naga. The dogs love playing in our expansive yard! We also have two cats, Washburne, who is two, and Asuna, who is six.
Our Extended Family
We are close with both sides of our family and each have three siblings. Chris has two sisters and a brother. His older sister is married with two children and lives in Ireland; we travel there to visit her whenever we can. However, Chris’ mom is excited about the prospect of having a grandbaby a little closer to home. Alicia has three brothers, one of whom is married with three children. They are in South Dakota, and we go there frequently to visit.
With our families we enjoy playing games, traveling, spending time outdoors, and going snowmobiling. Last summer, we even took a trip to Germany with Chris’ side of the family! We feel lucky to have such supportive and amazing people in our lives.
What Led Us To Adoption
We had the family-planning talk before we even got married. We discussed how many kids we wanted and the timeline we imagined ourselves on. Since the beginning, adoption has been part of our plan. It was something we both felt drawn to. We imagined we’d have one or two biological children before adopting, but we’ve had some struggles getting and staying pregnant. After more than a year of tears and heartache spent trying to conceive, we decided to pursue this exciting path earlier than originally planned. We make all sorts of plans for ourselves, but in the end God’s plan is the one that always comes to fruition. We’re excited to see how our family can grow through the blessing of adoption!

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence
As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.
The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.
Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!Return to Waiting Families
