Dear birthmother,I know this is the toughest decision that you will ever make and you are a truly remarkable and special person to do what you are doing for your child and for the lucky parent you choose. Thank you so much for even considering me to raise your child. I can promise you this baby will be loved dearly and forever by me and my family. A family isn’t always made up of a mother and father and a child. I believe a family is about people being together that love and take care of each other, no matter what comes their way. As I found out through my own experience growing up, an incredible mother can be even better than two parents. My mother taught me how rewarding yet often tough it can be to raise children on your own which is why I am so ready to take this step even though I do not have a husband to share this journey. I know the challenges of raising a child as a single person but I would never consider that I am doing this alone. Quite the opposite! I have an unbelievable network of family and friends that cannot wait to help out and support me in whatever way they can. I have always been the person that friends and family entrust their children to and that children themselves love and trust. Just ask my five nieces! They are the light of my life and I would rather spend time with them than almost anyone and they know it. I am always there for them with love, patience, kindness and usually a special treat! I always let them cook with me and help me get ready for family parties – which they love. They always ask if they can come stay with Aunt Babette (that’s what they call me). I think my nieces are most excited of all to have a new child join our fun and loving family. I look forward to hopefully meeting you and sharing this journey together. May God bless you in your search and your pregnancy. About usMy name is Elizabeth and I cannot thank you enough for even considering me in this most difficult decision. And I am so excited to be finally going on this journey to welcome a child into my family and into my life. My whole life has prepared me to take this step at exactly this time. You see my mother raised me and my five siblings as a single parent and she taught me to be a strong, independent, warm, loving and generous person. She taught me to cherish every minute of life, particularly those spent with family and good friends, which I do. I work in advertising at a job I love, with people I really care about. I work hard at keeping dear friendships and keeping my family close. I am a very good cook and love to cook for family and friends and entertain in my home. I am so proud of the person that I have become and I owe it all to my mother and my wonderful loving family. They have all been so encouraging of my decision to adopt a child and are so excited to have a new member of the family. While I have not been lucky enough to find a husband to start a more traditional family I do not think that should stop me from welcoming a child into my home when I have so much love to give. No family is perfect but I promise you that I will do my very best to make the happiest, most loving home possible for your child. Our home / Our petsI love my home! I own my home, a condo in a wonderful old building in a beautiful, family-friendly neighborhood in an urban area. My family and friends love to be invited over because I make everyone feel welcome and there is always the promise of a delicious meal and a fun time together. I have a lovely back deck overlooking a courtyard with a big tree that changes colors with the seasons and my neighbors are really friendly and watch out for each other. Just down the street there is a really nice gated park where all the neighborhood children play, as well as a zoo and only a short walk to a lake and beach. I love taking walks in the park and along the beautiful lakefront. And I live just a few blocks from my parish, a very warm, welcoming Catholic community and an important part of my life and my strong Christian faith. Our extended familyI have a HUGE extended family - my immediate family is my mother, three sisters, two brothers, two brothers-in-law and five nieces, but that is only the beginning. I have aunts, uncles and 37 first cousins and most of them are married with children, which makes our family parties over 100 people! We love to get together and luckily most of us live close by so I get to see them often. It all started with my incredible grandparents who taught us all to love one another and stick together no matter what. Each generation has kept that spirit going through great times together. My sister is also my best friend so we spend a lot of time together, along with my brother-in-law and their two daughters. They live in a very nice house in the neighborhood that I grew up in with tons of kids on their street. Their house is only about 15 minutes from me so I spend a lot of time with them, at least a couple of times a month. And my mother’s house, where I grew up, is just three blocks from my sister so we are always over at her house too, most often in her beautiful garden. Family vacationsI love to travel and have been to some beautiful places in the world with family and very close friends. My mother has been a constant travel companion throughout the years as well as my brothers and sisters. We have rented houses in different regions of France and Italy so we can really explore the area like local people (especially shopping the markets and cooking wonderful meals) and have a home away from home. I also rent a beach house on the east coast for a week every summer with two of my best friends from college and their children. We love getting to spend the week together playing on the beach and exploring the region. In the winter I go to Mexico with friends, their children and my brother to escape the cold winter to a beautiful beach resort on the Pacific coast. I am so lucky to get to visit such beautiful places with the people I love and I cannot wait to share these experiences with a child. It is such a great way to learn about the world around us.
