Dear birthmother,

Hi, this is Mark and Ruth. We have a dream to expand our two-person family to three. In our hearts and home, we have plenty of room and love to welcome a child. Our families and friends are supportive and they’re waiting with us. We can imagine that your decision is far from easy and we pray that you will find the peace and clarity needed. We’re very grateful and humbled that someone would give us the opportunity to be parents and we invite you to learn more about us.

We are preparing with excitement to receive a child into our family. That someone would give us the opportunity to be parents makes us very grateful and humble, and we thank you for taking time to meet us this way. We are a happy, active couple with a faith in God's provision and guidance for our lives, and we trust, that the child that is meant for us will come. Our families are warm and welcoming and they're waiting in excitement with us.We also have good friends who we can rely on for support in bringing up a child. For you to get an idea of who we are, we want to share something about us and what's important to us. Over the nine years we've been married, we have made an effort to give room for each other to grow and flourish. We hope to give a child the same opportunity in our family. We try to put each other first and welcoming a child into our lives will be our foremost priority. You have now had a chance to catch a glimpse of who we are. In a child's exploration of the world, we believe it's crucial to be able to ask questions and receive open and honest answers. Therefore, we believe contact with you as the birthparent is very important. We realize that your decision is far from easy, and we would want you to let us know what's important to you. We pray for your health, for clarity and peace of mind in this time of decision.

About us

Ruth's domain is the house where you'll often find her in the kitchen preparing a home-cooked meal. She has a warm and gracious personality and will make every effort to invite guests in to share a meal. She has a strong Christian faith which is exemplified by her service to others. Ruth has a BA in education and enjoys her work at a local language pre-school. Art, outdoor activities and nap-time are her favorite times with the children. Her work is close and she loves to bike there. From home she also translates over the phone in her native language Danish and Norwegian, her mother's native language. Mark is the man in the house. He is a caring husband with warm brown eyes. He takes care of me and the household budget as well as doing the dishes. He works as a manager in transportation, has an MBA and is working on a second masters degree. He loves to go for a run or a swim, and plays ice hockey during the winter season.

Our home / Our pets

We love our cozy bungalow which is in a safe and diverse neighborhood. On our block neighbors look out for each other and we visit over the fences once the snow is gone. Close by are great parks and sports facilities. The area has excellent programs for children and the local schools are very good.

Our extended family

Mark’s loving parents live some hours from here, but we see them frequently and keep in touch with them over the phone. His brother's and sister's families are also outside the area but we enjoy spending time with them as often as we can.. To Mark's four nieces and one nephew, he is a loved uncle. The families of both of his parents arrange reunions every three years and we enjoy attending those. Ruth comes from a close-knit family in Denmark. She has three siblings and eleven nieces and nephews. Phone calls, letters and e-mails keep us in touch with each other. We have been blessed with their visits and we visit them every year. Ruth also grew up spending summers in Norway and has introduced Mark to her extended family.

What we do for fun

One of Ruth's passions is art. She is active in a local printmaking studio and teaches art to kids and adults. From Spring to Fall you will find her in our yard digging and planting; she loves to see things grow. You'll often find Mark reading, watching a good movie or following the baseball scores. He loves music and plays our piano around the holidays. He has a strong sense of compassion and Christian responsibility and he organizes the church greeters and serves breakfast to homeless people.
