We would love for you to consider us in your journey to find an adoptive family for your child. We can promise you that he or she will be loved, supported, and nurtured each and every day and will always know that the choice you made to find an adoptive family was made out of love. We hope that you will honor us with the privilege of raising your child. We are a very happy and loving couple who want to share all we have with your child. Our love of life, family, our pets and our health have created a special and strong bond between us that we believe we can pass on to your child. We promise to give your child the same love and devotion that we have for each other and to provide a secure and stable home for them. Please know that your child will lovingly understand the decision you made for the better of him or her and how special you are. We look forward to becoming parents so we can share and spread the love that the two of us felt as children and constantly feel for each other. Our fertility journey was rocky and that lead us to adoption, the safest route for us to become parents. The day we were chosen by Angel Adoption was a very happy day for us. The day we get to meet our child for the first time is going to be the best day of our lives. Although we currently live in exciting downtown Chicago, we do not want to raise our family here. The quality of the schools is poor and, in our opinion, the quality of a childhood without a backyard and trees to climb would not be ideal for our child. We are looking into relocating to a destination out west – California, Utah, and Colorado? - Where our family can be more outdoorsy and safe. We will find a location to permanently plant our roots before our child has reached school age so that he or she will not have a disrupted education. We are already looking into our ideal locations and want to take several short trips to find the place that is just right for our family. 
About usWe met through a fitness internet forum in February of 2004. We began chatting online which quickly led to meeting in person, dating and the rest is history, as they say. We hit it off very quickly due to our shared interest in the great outdoors and passion for triathlons, cycling and running. Our fun-loving and active lifestyle keeps us happy, healthy and full of energy while taking vacations to hike, to kayak or to bike. But we are not all go-go-go! We also spend a lot of time relaxing, reading, going for long walks with our dog and lounging on the couch. In between exercising and relaxing John works as a lawyer in downtown Chicago and Cathy is a fitness manager at a large health club in the city. 
Our home / Our petsThe main thing that comes to mind when we think of our home is the word peaceful. Despite living in Chicago’s hustle and bustle, our high-rise condo reflects our preference for peace and relaxation. In addition to our modern esthetic, we have very comfortable furniture where you can always find one of us – Cathy, John or our dog Franko lounging around. Franko is an Italian Greyhound who is nearly 14 years old. He loves long walks, a big bowl of food, ear scratches and sleeping on the couch. Our other dog, Tyler, recently passed. He is greatly missed and was a huge part of our family. 
Our extended familyJohn’s father, step-mother and 2 half-siblings all live in Seattle, Washington where he grew up. John’s half-brother attends the University of Santa Clara in California and his half-sister is in her final years of high school. His mother and step-father live in Oregon. John is also very close to his aunt and uncle who live Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Cathy’s father and older brother live in Indianapolis, Indiana where she grew up. Cathy’s mother and step-father live in Lafayette, Indiana, just a quick two-hour drive from Chicago. Everyone in both of our families is very excited for the two of us to become parents and are very supportive as we make our way through this process. 
Family vacationsJohn’s family owns a house in the resort town of Sun Valley, Idaho. This amazing location is great for year-around fun. Summers are filled with festivals, swimming, art galleries, hiking and great food. Winters are filled with all the winter sports like sledding, skiing, snowshoeing and snowboarding. We meet up with his west coast family in Idaho regularly for wonderful family time and very relaxing vacations. Getting the whole family together - all six of us under one roof – makes for terrific vacation memories whether we are laying at the pool or skiing down the slopes. We are even lucky enough to use it for ourselves if we need a quiet get-away. Thank you for taking the time to look over our adoption scrapbook. We look forward to speaking to you soon.
