Dear birthmother,Hi! We are Steve and Tiffany. We would like to start this letter by saying thank you for taking the time to learn about us, and to know we are anxious to learn more about you. It takes a very special person with a very generous heart to do what you are doing. We are sure this is a difficult time in your life and your choices have not been easy, but we want you to know that if you choose us as adoptive parents, that your baby will feel more love, patience, and security than anyone could imagine. Your baby will truly be a blessing to our entire family! The two of us have known each other since high school. We had the same circle of friends but didn’t start “dating” until we were in our mid-20s. We dated for 4 yrs. before getting married and buying our first house in 1998. We live in a wonderful community with parks and schools nearby. We feel our house will finally be a home once we have a baby and our family is complete! We have so much love in our hearts to give to your child! Please take comfort in knowing your baby will be raised with an abundance of love from family and friends, that holidays and birthdays will be big celebrations, and that we will pass down some wonderful family traditions! Your baby will be raised knowing that simple things like love, kindness, patience, and honesty are the most important things in life. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, your baby, and the people you love during this difficult journey. Thank you again for all you are about to share. About usLet us tell you a little about ourselves. I am Steve and I am 37 yrs. old and work as a production manager that supplies parts to foreign auto makers. I am a very respected and loyal employee. I was born and raised in the Chicago area with my two brothers. Both brothers live close by and we see them often. My youngest brother is married and has a great family including our beautiful niece and nephew. I am also close to my parents and their spouses along with my grandparents and extended family as they also live in the area. I am a bit of a sports fan! My two favorite pastimes are golfing and playing pool. I also love to watch football, hockey, and baseball. I am a civil war buff and have many books on the subject. I can be described as someone who is loyal and honest, has a great sense of humor, and is very laid-back and easy going. I am Tiffany and I am 38 yrs. old and was born in Cleveland, Ohio. I spent the first 13 years of my life there until my family transferred to Mississippi for a short time and then to Chicago, due to my dads job. I have lived in the Chicago area for 24 years. My immediate family still resides in the Chicago area and we are all very close. I have a younger sister who has three children. We have two beautiful nieces and one adorable nephew thanks to her! I have family in Ohio that I am also very close with and see them whenever possible. Some of my hobbies and interests include, gardening, cooking/baking, decorating, and doing pilates. I love spending time with children and used to teach pre-kindergarten classes and was a nanny for many years. I volunteer time to help mothers with multiples (twins, triplets, etc.) from infancy thru kindergarten. I can best be described as fun loving, silly, patient and caring. Our home / Our petsOur house has a cute front porch and a big deck in the back yard as we love to spend time outdoors. We have a living room, dining room, kitchen, family/playroom and three bedrooms. During this difficult journey of ours we did get our first “kids” (our 2 cats and bird) Muchachi, Lilly, and Hermie. They are VERY spoiled and loved! We knew though that our lives wouldn’t feel complete without children. After a lot of tears, prayers and soul searching, we decided that adoption was the road for us. We feel God had a plan for us all along and finally this plan feels right. Our extended familyWe are both very close to our families and as a result our two families have become great friends! We spend time with them for holidays, birthdays, and casual gatherings. We spend a lot of time with friends also. We have some very special friends from our past and some great new friends we have made since being married including our wonderful neighbors and their children. Most of our friends have kids so it is always a big fun crowd! What led us to adoptionAfter getting married, Tiffany quit work to get pregnant and be a stay home mom. We knew we always wanted children and never thought it would be a problem. Surprise!! We started trying to get pregnant two yrs. after we were married and after three yrs. of trying on our own, we decided to try fertility treatments. After a year of treatments and still no success we tried some alternative methods (acupuncture, chiropractic, psychologist/spiritual healer, vitamin supplements and herbs). Still nothing worked.
