Dear birthmother,When we were young and first in love, we talked over many of our dreams and goals for the future. Raising a family has always been high on the priority list. Not knowing if Katrina would be able to have her own children, we dreamt of adopting even before we were married. We were so blessed to be able to have 2 little boys, now ages 3 and 5. However, that dream of adopting still persisted. We would love to fulfill this by welcoming an adopted child into our family. Thank you for considering us as a family for your little one. We can't wait to meet him or her!!! We have a large circle of family and friends who are also supporting us and are excited about this journey. We admire the decision you are making and hope to support you in any way that we can. Thank you for allowing the opportunity to share a little about ourselves. 
About usJohn and I met in college and dated for all 4 years before getting married. This gave us lots of time to get to know each other. After we were married, we moved to Egypt to teach. It was an awesome experience and we've loved travel ever since. We were married for 5 years before we had children. John is a computer programmer. We are blessed that his work is only a couple of miles from home, so we get to spend so much time with him. We also get to meet him at work occasionally for lunch. In his free time, John enjoys running, biking and spending time with our family. He loves to wrestle, play basketball and fish with the boys. I, Katrina, love music. I love listening to music, dancing, playing my French horn and singing. I taught elementary music for 5 years before deciding to stay home to nurture and love our children. I like to be involved with other people and hope to be a blessing to those who are around me. Some of the activities I am doing right now are being leader of our parent group and nursery at church, playing in a University band and volunteering time at a local nursing home. The boys and I spend every day together either with friends, at the park, the library or playing in our basement. 
Our home / Our petsWe enjoy our home of 5 bedrooms and 3 baths. We have a great finished basement that is mostly dedicated for toys and playtime! We live in a suburb of Chicago which means we have a quiet neighborhood and backyard to play in, yet have access to so many exciting adventures in our area! We are friends with our neighbors and have many play dates with them. We also enjoy sharing our lives with our two Huskies, Kenai and Atka. 
Our extended familyWe love big families! We both came from families of 6. We remember great experiences with our siblings and are excited to create memories of our own with and for our children. All of the grandparents, aunts and uncles are very excited to welcome this new little one into our family. We spend time with our extended family whenever possible. "Baba" and "Papa" (grandma and grandpa) love to come and play with the boys and we get together with aunts, uncles and cousins for many special occasions. Our church is like a second family to us as well. They have been praying for us and you, and are so excited to meet him or her! 
What we do for funThere is a wide variety of things we do for fun, but mostly we just like to do them together. One of our main passions is travel. We try to get to one new country every year. We are looking forward to sharing our love of different culture, food and people with our children as they get older. Closer to home we enjoy dancing in downtown Chicago, going to live sporting events, being season ticket holders of both our local community theatre and the Joffrey ballet, and cosmic bowling. We also love to spend time as a family, going to the zoo, playing tennis at the park, taking a walk with our dogs, camping and simple things like doing our night time routine together.
