Dear birthmother,Thank you for taking the time to read about us. It's really hard to tell you everything about us in just a few paragraphs. We really just want to express how much we love our families and would love to have a family of our own. We've tried for many years to make a baby of our own and always talked about adoption, even if we were able to make our own babies. We have a lot of love to share. We know that you have a very tough decision ahead of you. We hope we can make your decision easier for you (probably the most difficult decision of your life) by offering our friendship, love of life, and understanding. We hope that we are the ones for you. Thank you so very much for considering us as adoptive parents. We can assure you your baby will be brought up in a home with love and laughter. We both have strong family ties and values and would love to have a family of our own. We commit to you that we will protect and cherish your baby, and hope that you will trust us to raise your child. We would welcome the opportunity to meet you and hope you will reach out and contact us soon. About usWe first met several years ago at college where we were next-door neighbors our senior year. For several years our friendship was at a distance via e-mail. But then fate brought us together one sunny summer day in 2006 and we knew we were meant for each other. We are so happy together! We're pretty sure that the only thing that could bring us more happiness is to have a family. Wes has his own business, an independent book company. Beth is an administrator at a university library. Wes is tall, Beth is short. We both love to be outside, and often take bike rides, hike, and boat on the river near our home. We both like to read (fiction for Beth, non-fiction for Wes,) watch the latest Netflix, and we play lots of Scrabble. We often visit nearby towns and cities for concerts, shows, and festivals. Our home / Our petsWe live in brick house with our pets, our dog Brody, and three cats named Fiona, Jasper, and Sophie. Our house has a screen porch and a fenced backyard, and is walking distance to the university where Beth works. Our town is medium-sized and offers lots of events for families to do together. On weekends, we try to go as often as we can to our house in the country, which we are in the process of renovating. Wes' grandparents raised their family there, including his mom Barb, and Wes often visited there when he was a kid. Wes has great sentimental attachment to our home in the country. It's a beautiful scenic area, and a great place for kids to run around and play. Our extended familyWes' family includes his mom and step-dad, and his sister Wendy. Wes' extended family is big, and holiday gatherings and family reunions often include up to 60 people. Wes is very close to his aunts, uncles, and cousins, and we enjoy getting together with them. Beth's family includes her mom and dad, sister Ann and brother-in-law Bill, brother John and sister-in-law Kari, and 3 nieces: Emily (15), Katherine (12), and Haley (4), and 3 nephews: Andy (13), Michael (4), and Jack (2). Also, two grandparents: Grandpa Jack and Granny Betty, and aunts and uncles, too. We are very lucky to live nearby both of our families and get together regularly. What we do for funWe love to spend time with our families and get together with them whenever we can. There are many family traditions, most of which involve some kind of travel, and here are just a few. Wes's family rents a hall in Illinois and there's a huge potluck dinner on New Year's Day where someone dresses up as Santa and passes out grab-bag gifts to everyone. Beth's parents rent a condo in Florida in February and she, her sister and brother each choose a week to visit and comb the beaches. On Memorial Day weekend, Wes's family treks from all over the country to Iowa for more eating, visiting, and decorating the great-great-great grandparent's graves. July is the month for gathering in Illinois at Nana and Pop's (Beth's parent's nicknames) for lounging by the pool, picking vegetables from the garden, and sitting down to a delicious cookout. We also visit both sides of the family for traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. We're both very thankful to come from loving, caring families.
