Dear birthmother,Hi! We are Chris and Melissa. We want to tell you how much we admire your strength and courage in your decision to create an adoption plan. We can never know the difficulty you face in your decision, but we want you to know that you are our one hope in starting our family. And for that, we are eternally grateful. We promise to provide a safe, loving home for your child and to protect and care for him or her the very best that we can. Your child will always know that your decision to place was out of your unconditional love, and they will know how much we admire your courage in doing what you think is best for your baby. You are already on our hearts and minds as you begin this process. Let us start by saying that we can’t imagine how difficult this decision is for you. We truly admire your courage and strength in considering adoption. Whatever decision you choose, you should feel proud that you are making it with your baby’s best interests at heart. We are so thrilled that you have chosen to consider us as adoptive parents for your baby, and so, we would love the opportunity to tell you our story so that you may know us better. Melissa and I (Chris) met in a college communications class four years ago. On the first day of class, the professor said that this course had a strange effect on students in which some had actually fallen in love and married. Well, at the time we had no way of knowing how significant this statement was to us, but just a little over a year after the class had ended, we became one of those couples. We have been pretty much inseparable since that time, and about two years ago; we decided we wanted to start a family. Our struggle with infertility has been a difficult one, but we have found the strength to accept it through each other. We truly believe now that our destiny was always to adopt, and we cannot be more excited about this opportunity. If you think we might be a good fit as adoptive parents for your baby, we would really love to speak with you and to get to know about you and your life. We really can’t express how eager we are to raise a child with all the love and support that we can give. Thank you for taking the time to read our letter and to consider us as adoptive parents. 
About usMelissa works as a pharmacy sales representative and her personality suits her work very well. Melissa works hard, but never takes herself too seriously. Her hours are extremely flexible, and she is even considering being a fulltime parent when the time comes. He is very active in the computer security industry and writes articles for a security website as well as participates in security events and conferences across the country. Chris works as a computer security contractor with the Tennessee state government. 
Our home / Our petsWe live in a quite area known as Brentwood south of Nashville, TN. It’s beautiful here because there are lots of parks surrounded by hillsides. There are also two large lakes nearby. Our one true hobby is being on the lake. We have a boat and spend many summer weekends on the water. Our home has 3 bedrooms, and we have already started to prepare the room next to ours for the baby we were meant to raise. We have great neighbors who are similarly aged. We love our friends and they are also very excited about our decision to adopt. In fact, we have two couples that have recently had children so there should be lots of playmates! 
Our extended familyHe loves spending time with our family and friends, and he loves to have fun. Chris’ father, John, lives in Connecticut, and his mother, Linda, lives near us. He has one sister, Erica, who also lives close by and works with for his mother. His family is also extremely excited and supportive of our decision to adopt. She enjoys spending time with family and friends at every possible opportunity. Melissa takes pride in our home and keeps it very clean and inviting. She also has a passion of décor that she expresses in our house as well as in her party planning. Her mother, Betty, and father, Dave, live close by and are very excited about our decision to adopt. Her brother, Matt, is an Army sergeant who lives near by, and her sister, Amanda, lives in North Carolina with her husband, Rob. She is very close with her family and sees them very often. She is also a great aunt to our three-year-old nephew, Parker. 
What we do for funChris is very thoughtful and compassionate. He loves to read and spends a lot of time working with computers. He also helps family and friends when they have computer problems. Melissa is very energetic, giving person who loves to plan parties for family members’ and friend’s birthdays.
